CONSPIRACY...It does frequently occur in a field of witches... Especially when there are differences in sexuality from 3.9 to all zero in last clinical huh????
I disagree! This person spent a lot of money, for a BSN and the time involved. If there were any problems during the last 3 years it should have been brought up earlier so she can correct the problems..Not at the end, where there were two days left until graduation..It is not fair to the student like that..I know that clincal instructors are all different..Some are more strict and some are more laid back in grading..And some might be even biased in grading and failing students.
Sometimes, problems don't present themselves until weeks or even days prior to graduation. My school, for instance, put the "screws to you" the last 6 weeks with an intensive clinical schedule and responsiblity load. You either stood up to the demand and proved you were competent and controlled under pressure, or....you didn't.
Being able to handle one or two patients in prior semesters isn't even a fraction of the real pressure load of a floor nurse, so sometimes, instructors don't get to see the "real you" until quite close to the end. And, unfortunately, some just don't measure up
You missed, then, the posts the moderators deleted for name-calling, profane and abusive language, and otherwise derogatory, inflammatory messages. What's left are the ones that could be viewed safely.
Just leave the orginal poster alone..The admins took her off the ban list because things were worked out..And she got banned for posting too much stuff in different fourms not by vulgar statements..Leave her alone and give her some slack..

I agree, the instructor should have corrected the problem much earlier. Sounds to me the instructor is playing the "power card", because of personality issues instead of pt. safety. I'd be going to the president of the school if I had no warning and failed 2 days before graduating. What is up with that?
I am so sorry to hear of your undeserved dilemma. You should keep all records of all incidents and meetings with the teacher, evaluators, and dean. Any statements of admission, offers etc... from the school should be in writing. Keep a journal of all events so you can refer to later if neccessary. All this will be crucial if the situation ends up in court. If you can get any statements from other students confirming the bias of the teacher, that would help too.
What school are you with so we'd know to avoid it.
Good luck.

Actually, she did post some pretty inflammatory and vulgur comments. I actually resonded to one of them before it was pulled. If she wanted us to 'leave her alone' then why is she posting on the boards? That doesn't make sense. Like a PP said, you may have missed the comments deleted by the mods. If this is how she acts on the boards, how did she act in clinical?????

She 'alluded' to a mistake made by her that the teachers 'allowed' to happen that possible had resulted in a patient's death. I don't care where you are at in your schooling, but if you kill someone in clinical, you usually fail. We don't know how many times the clinical instructors let some of the things she did slip by. We don't even know the whole story because the OP won't fess up. We also don't know her attitude in clinical (which is a huge deal to clinical instructors). But we can guess her attitude just based on the things she has said on this board.

Thank you, Jes. I read (and responded to) some of the posts you did. I can only imagine if I used that kind of vocabulary in school, I'd be very surprised to last until the end of the program. The OP may have "worked things out" but I cannot erase my memory; some of the terms applied to actual human women are permanently offensive.
My teacher set up medications in the drawer in a way that could have harmed the patient, however being a proficient student I did not take the bate. Her purpose in doing so was to say that I would have harmed the patient, if she could catch me preparing the wrong one. One teacher in a previous clinical stated, " I would trust her with my own family" I would never harm a patient. I was the first student in the last clinical rotation to start an IV as well as the only student who would volunteer to lead the class in a mock code.
As for the use of my di.. word I was referring to the blockage of a passage by this woman in more than one way. I have nothing against anyone's sexuality until it fails me... furthermore I can't even go to the local hospitals and schools because everyone knows each other so I have to leave state to be fairly evaluated.
Thanks for all of you who understand that things are not always fair. Anyone familiar with my nursing school knows that the faculty have drinking parties and that they stick together in all cases.

I had a friend who was failed the week before graduation. While some of the reasons were valid, I also think she got on the wrong side of an instructor and taht was part of the prob.
Man, if I was failed out of school I would be a little nutty, too. But lobeth, please dont blame the whole nursing profession and every instructor out there for YOUR situation.
BTW, posting the stuff here like you do is not making you any friends--especially w/ teh moderators. You would find more support if you toned down your posts a bit.
