Failed Rn boards 4 times

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey need some tender loving advice. New @ this website. So here we go. I graduated from ADN school in 2004 and failed RN boards 4 times, so someone made and suggestion to try for my LPN boards, so I am trying to prepare myself to take lpn boards in 2 weeks. Do anyone know about the LPN 2012 nclex test and what I need to prepare myself for, please help. Thanks

That is the whole point of this conversation, thank you Monica! It is completely different field of practice.

There are possibilities for return nurses now, after they pass their NCLEX-RN exam, they can take more courses towards BSN and enter their profession with stronger knowledge, not to mentioned that most hospitals require BSN now. It will take awhile but going back to refresher course is nothing to be ashamed about it. Most of her courses are still have 2 more years till they expire, it will be wiser to take this rote then to take LVN test.

Hello there, I'd suggest you buy saunders nclex comprehensive review and study the content on your own first, then take kaplan review either in person clsassroom or thier ondemand online classes, (they focus on strategey which is only useful, after you have content mastery, and if needed hire an nclex tutor. Kaplan class is very fast so w/o the content background knowledge you would benefit less or worst be lost.

key is consistency - every day wake up at a certain time, set aside x amount for studying, commit to practing a set amount of questions, review time and stick to that schedule. You should be studyign every day regardless of job or not, onyl 1 off day allowed, take a look at this link for tips on how and what I and others used to prepare. https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/nclex-kaplan-practice-697842.html

Well I do know of a friend of a friend who took the nclex 9 thimes and passed on the 9th attempt, A student in class, but could not pass the exam. She's now the ADN (assistant director of nursing) at a major hospital. Oh and LPN isn't any easier it covers the same amount of material, though i imagine it would be confusing to know which is the correct answer for LPN vs. RN. After you -pass the nclex you will probably need to take a refresher course to relearn your basics so you can provide safe patient care, this is definetly the profession whose skills you must keep using or you lose it

Make sure your reviews are the latest edition im sure you know that there's been many changes, medical feild is constantly changing example we were taught before to immerse canister in water to determine how much medication left but now its not recommended there's actually a formula how to determine how much med is left in the canister. Another one is before they taught us to give lots of milk to a toddler but now too much will cause anemia. And many more changes. Although we are all human its impossible to know everything, its impossible to not make error but truth is even a little mistake in nursing can or might cause someone else life.

OK guys, closing this for a time out.

The OP came for advice not attack. There are many reasons why they may have waited until they have to try NCLEX again be it PN or RN. The aim of this forum is support for sitting the exam. Some people are not good test takers but can be great nurses in the same way someone can pass the exam first time and make a horrible nurse.
