Hello all!
I failed A&P twice already. First time because I took it over a summer 5 week accelerated course like 2 summers ago. Bad idea!! The 2nd time this semester. This semester was a regular 12 week semester but the professor is known to be extremely hard. He is a doctor and teaches like we are pre med students. I knew the material but his tests were EXTREMELY difficult! We meet once a week for 12 weeks. I passed lab with a 86 but failed lecture and my overall grade was an F! My concern is the excelsior won't enroll me in the program because some programs will turn you away if you have repeated a science more than 1. Some will allow you 2 attempts. Does excelsior have this rule? I have had my transcripts already evaluated and all I needed to take was microbiology and retake the AP 2. Now I'm very discouraged because my choices of LPN to RN programs have narrowed a lot! Does anyone known the requirements for excelsior in regards to this matter?
I'm studying for micro now. Not sure where to focus just yet. In my opinion I think I'd knock out the a&p while its still fresh rather than focusing on new material and going back to it. The a&p exam is primarily physiology. Focus there. Breaks are sometimes good, just not sure it's best option now. That would be what I would do anyway, each is different. Over coming the fear of failing will be the biggest challenge. But I think you'd be surprised taking the exam with excelsior
I've been studying the material and everything is sooooo familiar. taken the practice exams and got a 80 something. I =m going to book the test soon. i think I'm better off with the EC exam. I work as a nurse in 3 different places so lots of things make more sense to me considering that I am applying a lot of it. I think Im so much better off just testing out.
Congrats @DelleBrock....Im in the process of taking the Anatomy and Physiology. What material did you use to study? you can reply here or email me at [email protected]. I would greatly appreciate your feedback.
You have failed A&P twice with two different professors; you say you aren't making excuses, but unless you take responsibility and makes some changes, then you are going to keep repeating your failing grades.
Regardless of the time course or the lecturer, you are ultimately responsible.
Pre-med students don't take A&P so he isn't holding you to those standards. If he is holding you to medical standards, god for him.

I'm going to consider taking the challenge thru EC. I really think this time around it was my lecture professor that was HORRIBLE. I passed lab with a great grade and she was awesome. However I'm just tiiiired of this class already. I'm thinking of just taking microbiology (only pre-req I have left) before revisiting AP 2. Just to give myself a break from it..what do you think???
