I thought I would start a post for those of us working our way thru the program. I feel like I have hit a brick wall with studying. I was on a roll for the first 9 months of this year getting ready to start the program and I knocked out 2 of my Nursing Exams already. Currently trying to study for LS1 with testing on Oct 17. I still have Repro, Chronicity, LS2, LS3 left to go. I thought I would put this out there in order to help myself and others. I'm looking for an accountability partner. Someone that I can encourage and vice versa to keep each other motivated. Could be 1 person or a small group. I really want to finish up by January at the latest. If anyone is interested send me a PM. I'm on facebook also.

It is hard to stay motivated sometimes. You may have to pay for the tests and set the date. That is what I had to do.

I did the same thing -- paying for the exam and setting the date, thereby giving myself a deadline. The only time I allowed myself to reschedule was with Micro, because I had some life stuff come up and get in the way. That was while I was waiting for my CPNE date anyway, so it wasn't a big deal.

Nervous1, I will gladly "join" your cult ;) I took my first exam on March 25th and by June 6th had seven exams completed with As and Bs. I FAILED LS3 and from there was no longer motivated to pick up any kind of study material. It has now been over four months and I recently got my motivation back. I have LS3, FCCA, and CPNE and I am done. It's hard for anyone I spoke with to understand how I could be so "close" and not be on fire about it. What they don't understand is the CPNE makes it so "FAR" for most, if not all of us! As I get closer to the reality of the CPNE I feel more like a "dead man walking" rather than someone getting closer to the finish line. I have always thought of my self as a "clinically sound" type nurse but the horror stories of people failing for forgetting simple things is very intimidating. I can't imagine ever forgetting to wash my hands because I have done it probably a million times in 18 years, but under pressure, who knows what you might forget.....God, just sitting here typing I need a xanax(and I don't even take Tylenol). Anyway, I want to take LS3 again before Halloween, FCCA by Christmas and the CPNE before Easter....let's keep each other on track!

Im taking LS1 this week as well. Anybody have any insite on how difficult this exam was compared to the others? Im trying to get it done by the end of this coming week. Good luck to all!

Health Safety (8/31) "B", Transition to RN role (9/9) "B",

Health differences (9/24) "B", Chronicity (10/5) "C", Repro health (10/12) "B"

I just took LS1 here, didn't think it was that difficult if you know cardiac, resp, and cancer. I just happened to be stronger in that area. I'm now backtracking and studying for Repro before I finish LS2 and LS3...that's all I have left before FCCA and CPNE...trying to move along quickly here, but life has its "moments" lol...

Repro Health wasnt to bad either. Definitely know the meds and vitamins, stages of labor, and disorders. I studied for less than a week and did fine.

This is a great plan Nervous1!! All those in the same time frame need to jump on board! There was group of us that sort of did the same thing from allnurses last winter, and a big portion of them have now passed their cpne :yeah: and still a few of us left testing soon (anjule, this weekend?) and some almost FCCA/CPNE ready, but this group was an AMAZING motivator for me, as well as Lunah who is always there us. Good luck with the rest of your exams!

Even though I just started this excelsior journey, I wanted to share my experiences. I just recently pass transitons and that had to be the driest subject ever to study. I'm happy I got that test out the way. I'm now studying for health safety and so far the information seems like common sense. I will be testing for that the week of oct.24. I'm really enjoying this program. I do things how I want and when I want. No stress like I felt in LPN school, though I know I will start getting anxious around CPNE time but I have enough time to worry about that. I hear so many horror stories of ppl who are in a "traditional rn program" and I am thankful to be obtaining my RN through excelsior. To anybody doubting excelsior...think about int because I find this program a gift sent from God.

Good luck everyone and ill keep you guys updated.

Just wanted to chim in. I'm taking Repro and Transtions this month (22nd and 29th) Chronicity and LS1 in November, and LS 2 and 3 in December. That's my plan, Good Luck to all !!

Well I rescheduled LSI from Monday to Tuesday, giving all day Monday to study (and of course today). I get paid tomorrow also so I am going to schedule my next one (undecided on which one yet, possible Chronicity). WHEN I pass LS1 Tuesday (praying), I will have Chronicity, REpro, LS2 and LS3 left to go. I am going to schedule them every two weeks till I am done. I only work 3 days a week so I think I can pull it off providing nothing gets in my way. It would be great to have all exams done and then I can focus on the CPNE for at least 1-2 months of hardcore study!
