  1. Definitely do your RN. I started as an LPN in 2011 and it is hard to find jobs as a LPN. Don't waste anytime. Only advantage of me doing LPN first, was that it made RN school a walk in the park for me.
  2. No issues finding a job. Got 3 job offers at hospitals once I passed my NCLEX. these hospitals do not know that excelsior is fully online when you apply. They just care that it is a fully accredited institution. And you have your degree. It's all about WHO you know and WHO can get you in.
  3. Yes, the nclex RN was very easy. I studied for maybe 1.5 weeks because my brain just couldn't take it anymore. I was a former LPN working, the EC tests, FCCA, and CPNE fully prepares you. I couldn't even open a book once I finished the CPNE to study for my nclex. I just did several practice questions and took my test 8 am. About 75 questions and 1 your later I was finish. Excelsior is amazing.
  4. Excelsior is accepted everywhere. Fully accredited institution. I didn't have a problem having my degree transfer into my RN to MSN program. You would only have a problem is excelsior was a private school.
  5. Congratulations! Graduate RN!
  6. The answer: NO! Hey everyone! I'm back to update you on my journey on finding a job at the hospital. Today I interviewed with the CNO at my hospital, and it went great! Not once did she ask me about excelsior or felt uneasy about hiring me based on where I got my nursing degree. She was more concerned about my experiences at my previous job. When you sit for an interview, feel proud that you are an EXCELSIOR grad, you have just graduated from a FULLY accredited institution and it wasn't a walk in the park! Don't feel embarrassed or ashamed when talking to coworkers or family members. Anyways, I was offered a job on the surgical orthopedic floor working days! I'm so excited to start. Hope all my Excelsior buddies are having a great day! Please let me know how the job hunt it going for you.
  7. CONGRATS!! you passed your RN! It's crazy how we became friends from meeting on this forum. We even took our CPNE together! Your someone that I will NEVER forget! WE MADE IT GIRL!! congrats again!! go out and celebrate!!
  8. It is extremely hard to get a job in south Florida. Almost impossible. Your not alone. Every new grad is having the same problem as you. I've probably applied to over 300 applications and got 1 call back and got turned down to due to a lack of experience. Good luck.
  9. Yes I heard back. I got accepted into the spring rn to msn program. I start January 9th
  10. CONGRATS!! You've accomplished something really huge!! Nclex next and your done!!
  11. CONGRATS!!!! Whoohoo!!!!
  12. GOOD LUCK ON LS3!!!! You will do great! Your almost done. FCCA,CPNE,NCLEX........RN!!
  13. I never did college network which is a scam. I studied using mainly study group 101 and a RN foundations book if I needed clarification on something. I wish I could tell everyone I know to stay away from college network. That's what usually discourages ppl to stop going to excelsior because they get caught up in all of the college network lies!
  14. Right now I'm working for an acute rehabilitation center as a primary nurse. They have already changed my title and have me doing RN duties...I know...ALREADY?! I'm not complaining though. I don't plan on changing jobs now, maybe in the future...we'll see. :)
  15. Hello my fellow EC friends! I wanted to update you on my EC experience! I took my first excelsior exam on October 2011 and passed my CPNE September 2012. Also I just recently took my NCLEX and passed so now I'm officially a RN!! I'm proud to say that I'm an excelsior grad to anyone who asks. Excelsior is not just the "easy way out" to get a RN degree. In my opinion it's way more harder than most RN programs around. You really have to be motivated and dedicated to pass excelsior. I hope my post motivates you to continue to try your best and don't give up!!! Your almost at the finish line!!
