entrance exam to RN program?

Hello everyone,

I am very eager to join in a RN program, so I come here for advice.

I get to know that a lot of RN programs have the entrance exam called TEAS(Test of Essential Ability Skills) by ATI.

For some community colleges, only those who get 95% of all the test questions correct can get accepted into the RN program. Is it really so competitive?

If you have taken this exam and have been admitted into the RN program, can you tell me how many score you get?

Can I get some advice from you about that exam? Thanks a lot.

Isabel

Hi there. I also have to take the TEAS this fall for the BSN program I really want to get into. What I did to get ready was buy the study guide they have available on the ATI website. It reminds me of all kinds of stuff that seems to have leaked out of my brain, like math. At my school they take your score and rank you with other considerations like GPA and GPA on the sciences. At the ADN program I am also applying to I dont have to take it at all.

My cumulative score on the TEAS was a 90% and I was accepted into the RN program I applied to. I had a friend who also scored the same, or maybe she had a 91% and she got in too. The study guide the previous poster mentioned definitely helped. It explains & shows you how to do the kind of questions that will be on the test and there are practice tests to take. The biggest complaint I heard from others about the test was that they ran out of time on the Math section and didn't finish all of the questions.

We had to take NLN exam. All you have to get is in the 50% range to pass. However, if you do better, you get points for admission. I got in the 85% range and earned 2 points.

We had to take the NET, got through a formal interview and have all the prerecs ie chem, stats, CPR Healthcare provider,etc... then we were notified if we got in.

What exactly is on the NET exam. Is it just reading or is thier math involved?

the net has from what i remember; first section is math, no calc or trig. then reading (answer the questions that follow) then what sentence is written incorrectly i.e. grammar or punctuation, then what word is spelled wrong, and i think that was it. and the math part sounds like cake but no calculators were allowed at my school and it was timed so if you have to take it, freshen up on those old school rules.

We have to take the Health Occupancy Aptitude Exam...I swear, I don't think anyone else in the country takes that test! I have a study guide but haven't heard of any other schools that use it. Maggie

Thank you all for your kind replies. Good luck to all of you.

and then after all the math and english, you get the personality questions. fun, fun. ;)

Has anyone heard of the HESI ?

The community college that I am applying also wants a 50% pass, but my question is what kind of stores did you get to pass the 50%?
