  1. Our professor said the first day "If you are a PETA person, this class isn't for you" . I'm certainly NOT a "peta person" but I do love cats and very disturbed that these cats are possibly bred for dissection. That is horrible !
  2. jeeeeeeeeez my best friend is hispanic and is the most intelligent, honest, and reasonable person I've ever known. I agree, just ignore it, but please don't go back to her again.
  3. there is a new dr. who seems to be much more likeable, caring, and positive !
  4. Oh good, I hope that is true ! I heard they were bred in Mexico , and it was very disturbing to me.
  5. I have 9 cats :) (all former strays/ferals) that I love with all my heart. (one is actually getting surgery done tomorrow on his ear!) We start the cat dissection on 10/16 I believe , and no I am not happy about it at all. Not the actual dissection, but supposedly the cats are BRED to be dissected. THAT is what I find deplorable. On the other hand I feel as though there is nothign I can do about it, it's either dissect the cat or find a new career path I agree with what Snowee says, I am just going to pray for strenght and hope for the best. It will be over soon.
  6. No he isn't moving, nothign like that. He said he can continue to treat her on an emergency basis. He just basically said there is not much he can do for her anymore. My mother actually said she is glad, as she overheard him saying some not so nice things about her (gma) at the nurses station. Sounds like a quack to me who needs to find a new job.
  7. update : A nurse from the facility called and said her Dr. is terminating the relationship. A letter has supposedly been written (by him) explaining his reasons, etc. Now the hunt is on for a new Dr. for her. I am very curious and interested to see what the letter says ! Does that sound familiar to any of you ??
  8. I like the commericial but I am smart enough to realize it is unrealistic.
  9. I considered doing the dog grooming thing. It looks fun and relaxing !
  10. are the lvn bridge to adn programs as competitive as the straight adn programs ?
  11. My husband had a kidney stone once while we were on vacation and I was sooo uncomfortable in those hard chairs ! The whole thing lasted hours and hours on into the morning. A very nice nurse let me go sleep in an empty room. I was forever grateful :)
  12. Thanks for the insight.
  13. It's like if we try and encourage her to get up , invite her places, etc. there's a boundary issue, but if we ignore the problem we are neglectful. Bottom line she is mentally ill and should have gotten help decades ago.
  14. I guess I don't understand what you mean by boundary issues. I am simply concerned about her and was wondering if anyone had seen anything similar and if there were any solutions. No one likes to see their loved ones "give up" on life, and refuse to get out of bed.
