End of the semester laziness

Published

Does anyone else get this? In spring semester the last 3-4 weeks were so beautiful and sunny and warm and it took all my strength not to ditch and go to class, I was so ready to be done.

Well now I have 4 weeks left (really only 3 because we have the whole week of thanksgiving off) and it's not sunny and warm, in fact it's snowy and cold but again I find myself slacking off and losing my motivation, I know we are so close to being done and I will be happy I made it through my first semester of nursing school and ironically I plan on studying med surge over my winter break but it's like at the end of the semesters I just feel lazy and don't want to study or go to class or put forth any effort anymore. Does anyone else start feeling that way towards the end of their semesters or quarters?

I have senior-itis bad. Graduating in December and I have to force myself to get the last few assignments/papers done. My brain is shot from these last 2 yrs and I just want to be done with writing papers. Just have to get through it and study for NCLEX. :D

Amen to that, I need to study for one of my finals, I will probably end up studying the stuff I know really well and not the stuff I am unsure of :stone

Right there with you all...passed my last theory class, 3 more clinical days, one 8 hour written comps, one more NCP to finish, one practise NCLEX & then graduation on Dec 16th...NCLEX in January & RN accomplished!! We are sooooo dragging our feet...its been a long one but you don't give up...I have had several classmates slack off & they are now behind, repeating classes...don't do it guys, we've all worked too hard & the reward is not far away...unlike me, wishing at the moment that I was far, far away ;)

I'm with each and every one of you. I have until Dec 15th and I just don't feel like doing anything. I am finding excuses to not study and feel almost resentful. I'm in third term so I have one more semester left until I graduate, but I have to figure out how to motivate myself.

GEEZ, I thought it was just me. We had our last lecture on Thurs and we won't test until the Thurs after Thanksgiving. They are giving us 2 weeks from our last lecture to study. We have a skills head to to assessment competency during that time but, for the most part we get to veg. YEAH. My only problem is I can't seem to get motivated to study I am putting it of more and more. I guess after Thanksgiving I will get motivated.

We finished clinicals on Saturday and I am working on my final care plan of the semester. YEAH! I am begining to deteste these things. Not the plans but the redundancy of it all. I just need to make it over the hump, I have an A and I hope it stays that way. :yeah:

God Bless. May everyone have a safe and happy week of rest.

This week we had our last Pharm exam but will have the final right after Turkey day break. We had a quiz in Dosage Calc, Physical Assessment Returns today including Foley (we already did foley before so ummm ok) have our Fundamentals Final first thing AM tomorrow and med lab in the afternoon and then AMEN it's friday and I will get the next 9 days off and only thing I will need to study if for my 30 question pharm final LOL

Mi vida Loca I couldn't agree with you more. I know I should be studying but the weather has not been an inspiration to me at all lately. I know I only have a final and an exit exam left to take but I just keep putting it off. I know bad me but I can't help it. I've been so lazy lately. Well good thing is I'm pass the course and clinical I just need to stick it out til the 14th of Dec. I can't wait til the semester is over with. I have OB and Med Surg next semester looking forward to it.

I am super excited about next semester and also scared. I am sure though by the end of next semester when spring is bringing it's beautiful rays of warmth and everything is looking alive again and so on I won't want to be cooped up in the hospital or classroom either and will be back here complaining about it.

Finished my Fundamentals exam today and so happy, I never got around to studying (was on here and facebook LOL) I suck at self studying anyway, but I got a 63 out of 72 questions so an 87.5% I will take it!!!!

I think most of us get that way! Im still in prereq's, but I'm so ready to be out of the classroom and in the hospital. I have 3 weeks left of the semester and finals are on the horizon and I'm so tired and don't feel like doing a thing!
