End of the semester laziness

Published

Does anyone else get this? In spring semester the last 3-4 weeks were so beautiful and sunny and warm and it took all my strength not to ditch and go to class, I was so ready to be done.

Well now I have 4 weeks left (really only 3 because we have the whole week of thanksgiving off) and it's not sunny and warm, in fact it's snowy and cold but again I find myself slacking off and losing my motivation, I know we are so close to being done and I will be happy I made it through my first semester of nursing school and ironically I plan on studying med surge over my winter break but it's like at the end of the semesters I just feel lazy and don't want to study or go to class or put forth any effort anymore. Does anyone else start feeling that way towards the end of their semesters or quarters?

I was able to keep up my stride. I have no idea how! I did well enough on the ATI to be exempt from my cumulative final and ended up with a 4.0! God is good. Now I am off for quite some time as well. Class starts Jan.6th!

I am done now too Mi Vida Loca... boy am I ready for this break. It was murder for me for the last week, my slump never picked up and I was dragging until the very last day. I only get a month off but I'll take it! Next semester is the last of my pre-reqs and will find out this spring about CU.

Enjoy your break!! :D

Enjoy your break as well, I hope you get in!!!!

It's that time of the year again, Spring is here! The weather is for the most part starting to warm up (minus a snow storm here and there) flowers are blooming and like always, IT'S SO HARD TO STAY MOTIVATED. I just want to be outside and enjoy the warm weather and not be cooped up in our class that always seems to be set at freezing temps as well.

Anyone else starting to feel it??

Got about 6 weeks until Summer Break and it couldn't come soon enough. :D

I'm counting down the weeks! Just started med/surg 1 after having OB the first 8 weeks and wish it had been the other way around. I have heard since January how crappy and hard this class is. I know I should be more on top of it...but I'm burnt out and need a break. Would love to keep my 4.0 but have decided to focus on the material and deal with the outcome. If I can survive this then only 2 semesters to go!

I'm just SUPER relieved its spring break, then 6 more weeks of school. Clinicals are winding down so I'll have more time to study and its not as hectic. Plus only one test per week until finals! I'm actually putting myself on high gear to improve my work and finish out the semester in good standing. Hang in there everyone!!

It's baaaaaaaaaack, the weather is warming up, the flowers are popping through, the dreary winter days are seeming a thing of the past and the last place I want to be is IN SCHOOL!!!!

Except now I have senioritits. 45 more days until graduation!!!!!

I remember when you started this thread back in November 2009. I was scouring these boards every day because I was only 2 months from starting nursing school (one semester behind you). It seems like so long ago and yet, not so long ago at the same time.

Look how far we've come!

And, yes, I am right there with you. The last place I want to be is in school. I am feeling the burn out BAD! The only thing that keeps me motivated is checking off the classes when they finish. I only have 4 more classes to pass until I get my degree. In 6.5 weeks, it will only be two more classes! I cannot wait to be done!

Exactly, Nursing school seems like what I imagine dog years would be like. For every 1 year it's 7 years. We are crammed with so much information in such a short amount of time that it goes by so fast, yet at the same time, seems to take forever.

I was searching for a post I made long ago on MS and came across this! I also found the one I made in the Pre-nursing forum for those of us that were starting in Fall 09.

4th semester has gone really well. It seems so much easier than the other semesters, majority of my class has stayed in the 90's average and I haven't heard of anyone doing bad. I have gotten more 100% on exams this semester than any other semester. We have 12 15 question quizzes each week and than a Final. Anyway, hopefully your 4th semester goes as smoothly!!!!

You're almost done!

***Oops just saw that you are RN-BSN so that is probably set up much different.

I should be starting the RN-BSN in October.

only 6 1/2 weeks until graduation...long story short, we are still waiting for med/surg 3 grades since people were caught texting test answers!!! Lord knows how long we have to wait until we get those final grades :crying2: i am enjoying psych nursing but oh my senioritis has set in!!! these past few days have been warmer than 70 and i am struggling to focus!!! almost there!!! then on to working full-time nights as a graduate nurse
