So the transcript can be received or postmarked by 15th? Okay. I'm just hoping GPC opens tomorrow so I can send in my request for the transcript and hopefully they send it this week! Thanks creece15!

@hlee - You might want to double check on the postmark thing - unless creece15 already did that. The email that I received from them said the following:

The priority deadline for admission and scholarships is January 15th; at this time you must have a complete application packet which includes: application, fee, essay, resume, letters of recommendation, transcripts from all accredited colleges or universities regardless if a degree was earned or not and test scores if applicable.

I read that as they need to receive it by the 15th. But I would be happy to be wrong.

Yeah your application documents can be postmarked by the 15th and it will still be considered as priority. Check their website for more info. I think the only disadvantage is that it might arrive after the admission committee has already met, depending on when they meet anyway and may be just few spots will be left.

It took GPC about two weeks to send my transcripts. Glad that you got everything in. I guess we're all just waiting now. Hopefully everyone's transcripts will arrive in time.

Even with my application submitted well before the deadline, I'm still not feeling certain that I will get accepted. I suppose it's normal to doubt myself. I've kinda been working on back-ups, but not really.

I hope everyone is staying safe in this weather.

GPC is closed again tomorrow! It's really making me nervous. I don't think my transcript will arrive in time =( If I had known I would have submitted my application last week! I did not know the snow storm was gonna hit us this bad. Even if I get my application material in by time for priority I don't think I'll have a good chance. SO nervous!

As long as you have whatever materials you are sending postmarked by the 15th you are okay. I called and checked.

I will be sending mine on the 14th :-)

As long as everything is postmarked by the 15th you are fine (it says it on the website).

@william- I know how you feel! I just want to know what is going on and if I am in or not!!!! I know a few nursing students at Kennesaw (like myself) that are also applying to Emory!

I had sent an advisor an email asking a random question last week I can not remember what it was (something about scholarships), and she had told me that my application is under review (whatever that means!)....So only time will tell! If it is meant to be it will be!

I think as long as you have a decent GPA, a good personal statement with community involvement and community service/background, and good references then you should be ok (that is what a few Emory nursing students have told me).

Oh and another thing...make sure you check your OPUS! This will let you know if Emory is missing anything from the application. I know my friend had sent in everything yet Emory said they were still missing some stuff according to OPUS! OPUS takes about a week to have it set up, so if you are waiting until this week to send in your stuff make sure all your T's are crossed and all your I's are dotted (aka..make sure everything is sent in, everything is paid, etc)! You do not want anything showing up on your OPUS to do list (other than your pre-reqs) because then your application will be viewed as incomplete.

Does anyone know how quickly OPUS gets updated when online references are submitted?

And all we need to checking on OPUS is our To Do list, right? Is there any other place that says where you are missing something?

I believe Emory updates OPUS the same day that they get the reference. I hand-delivered a transcript one day and OPUS was updated by the time I got home.

That should be the only place that shows what information you are missing. It will also show the schools decision when available at the bottom.

All of my classes were cancelled for this week so now I'm just waiting to start classes on Tuesday. At some point I need to register to update my CPR card.

I hope everyone got their transcripts sent out before this week..it looks like the schools will be closed this week! As long as it is postmarked before the 15th you will be ok...Maybe Emory will extend their priority deadline, but I doubt they will.
