Greetings everyone:
I just sent in my application for Emory University for next year. I was wondering if anyone else has applied or are planning to apply. Currently, I am taking classes at GPC. I would love to start a little support group. If anyone is a student at Emory and would like to offer some advice it would be much appreciated too. Good luck everyone!

Hey there. I submitted my application for the ABSN program the first week of November. I'm interested in doing the PNP specialty. I am also completing prereqs at GPC. After this semester I will only have CHEM II remaining, which I plan to take in the Spring.
Which program did you apply for ABSN, Segue, or BSN?
I absolutely hate that we won't find anything out until February 2011. This is gonna be a long 2.5 months.

Hello everyone,
I will be applying to Emory's BSN second degree option for Fall 2011. I probably won't submit my application for a couple more weeks, though.
I think the next couple of months are going to be stressful for all of us. However, I know it will be worth it in the end. I work with a nurse who went to Emory and she has nothing but amazing things to say about the faculty, program, and school overall.
A little background on me. I graduated from Michigan State University a few years ago with a BS in Kinesiology. Discovered that what I thought I wanted to do, was not for me in the end. Completed a certificate in Business Administration at UC Berkeley and then moved to Seattle. I currently work at the University of Washington as an HA mostly in the ICU. I also volunteer on a non-profit at the University focused on improving patient care. I have one more prerequisite to complete (Organic Chem) and cannot wait to finish that portion of the nursing journey.
I have read previous discussions on getting into other programs and the small community that develops from these forums seems to help.
I still have a few classes to take. I have Chem 2, AP1,and Statistics next semester and AP2 and Micro Summer semester. My GPA is currently around 3.3. I hope it goes up after this semester. I am so anxious right now. T-Dasha, who are you taking Chem 2 from? I have Ms.***** right now and love her. I am applying for the BSN program and then PA school afterwards.
I know that we aren't supposed to hear anything for a few months but I check OPUS constantly. Is anyone taking summer pre-req classes?
@RNadia
My overall GPA for my undergraduate degree was 3.25. My overall GPA for my pre-reqs is about 3.7. I have one more class to take (O-chem) which I'm hoping will bring it up a bit.
@RNadia: My overall GPA from my first degree is a 3.2. I only have one more prereq left, CHEM II. So far I've made A's in all the prereqs except for MicroBio I made a B. So I'm not sure if the prereqs have brought my GPA up or not.
@williamhart1984: I too am taking Ms. *****. I also will be taking her next semester for CHEM II.
Thanks all of you for the reply i hope i get in i submitted my application today, im so nervous. Now its the wating thats stressing me out. Im just going to be positive and pray that i do get in. I called them today and they told me to log in to opus but it said my info is not on file, what should i do? I would call them but im at work now.
Thanks everyone for any feed back, and i hope everything works out for all of us.

Hi all,
I am also applying to Emory's BSN second degree program. I submitted my application at the end of Nov, but still have to make sure that my references get there and so far none of them have. Hopefully by the end of this month! I have to take Anatomy again in the spring because I took it more than 7 years ago. I'm hoping it will be an easier semester! I am finishing up micro and nutrition right now and really ready for a break!
It sounded like Emory will review your application once it is complete and not necessarily wait for the deadline to pass. Did anyone else get that impression or was it just wishful thinking on my part?

I submitted my application for BSN earlier this week, and I have completed all but 2 of the pre-reqs. I will be finished with General Chem next week, and will be taking my last pre-req (Organic Chem) in January. My overall GPA is a 3.79 and a 3.93 for pre-reqs... hoping it's enough because I really want to go to Emory. When I went for orientation a few months ago, it sealed the deal. Wishing you all good luck!
@ T-Dasha
What days are you taking Ms. ******? I have her for Tuesdays and Thursdays I believe. I just finished Chem 1 with her and got a high B out of the class.
Next semester is going to be crazy busy for me but I'm excited. I spoke with someone at Emory today regarding all the rumors that they may do early admissions. I was told that won't be happening this year and that the decisions will be posted February 15th at 4:00 pm for BSN applicants. I have submitted all of my information and will re-submit my GPC transcripts once they post the grades from this semester next week.
Just curious, how is everyone planning on paying for Emory?
