I am applying for the June 2013 start date. I have 2 more letters of recommendation to be completed before they will submit my application for review. Have you heard anything yet?

Still nothing.....makes me wonder if we get the scholarship how long theyd take to send the money to the school LOL

I also interviewed for the program and havent heard anything back! I go the email saying she would be out of the office last week and we would know something by the end of last week..but still nothing....I am really wondering if I got it! Lord knows I could use it with the Emory tuition!! lol Sharon told me they would let us know either way..good or bad... Let me know if you find out anything!!

I recently got accepted into the program and I start in less than a month!! What I can say about applying is ...it is a LONG wait...you will apply and will not find out until Feb. THEN the financial aid will not come until like May...so all I can say is do not put "all your eggs in one basket" Def. apply to more programs to increase your odds. It is very competitive. I believe that 415 people applied this semester @ Emory and 100 BSN students got accepted (I dunno know the exact numbers for absn/segue/ etc..) As far as the merit scholarships go...to my understanding and what the assistant director of Nursing Financial Aid told me is..they are allotted a certain amount of money for the merit scholarships so say 10,000....and then you have 5 people with 4.0 GPA's and 2 with 3.7 and the rest with lower GPA's..they will divide the 10,000 with the people with the highest GPA's...i had a 3.75 and I did not get the merit scholarship because the cut off this semester was 3.93....obviously it is because it is very competitive... Like they said at accepted students day...you pay for the name...yes you can get the same degree elsewhere..but Emory will open up so many doors for you and your future..and if you can swing the tuition..then I say go for it!! @yayaccepted this is the email I got from the financial aid advisor when I asked her about HOPE Mr. Reece, In reference to the Hope award, you cannot be evaluated for the Hope scholarship until all Kennesaw State hours are entered into our system. We have a Hope Panel where hours from other universities are to be entered. Your panel is empty. Once your KSU hours are entered, we will evaluate your eligibility for the Hope Scholarship. Please contact the Nursing school for assistance in getting your KSU hours entered on the Hope panel. Please keep in mind, that if you are eligible for the Hope award, that we will reduce the nursing school grant by 2,000 in order to add the Hope award of 2,000. It is not on top of the nursing school grant. --- That would be awesome if the HOPE is in addition to our grants- but from the email it does not sound like that is the case....I wish everyone in the financial aid office would get on the same page!!

SO here is the scoop on Hope...they will not evaluate us for HOPE until the hours from our schools we are taking now show up..(which will not be until the end of this semester)...HOWEVER- whatever amt of HOPE we get...it will be deducted from our nursing grant....So if you have a large nursing grant I would leave it alone...if you only got a small one I would def have them put in your hours for HOPE.... ANy other scholarships that are put on our package will be deducted from our financial aid grants...

the 10k is for the full year..so ill prob be at 20k for 2 years..lovely I really hope that the scholarships are set to come out separately

@stars I was wondering the same thing.... I got my finaid package...i will be attending..still have to take out 10k in loans...however my HOPE scholarship did not show up...also I should be eligible for the Deans scholarship....sooo hmm i dunno hopefully they send those out separately that would be nice!! I emailed the advisor to see.....so as soon as I know something I will let you know..and if you find out something let me know!

hey guys and gals, sorry i havent been on in a while. Been busy with the classes. Yeah the people that have posted ur emails I have sent you a friend request and ill add you to the group as soon as you accept it. It is a closed group on facebook- meaning you cannot search it the admin (which is not me) has to add you or one of the members.. so as soon as you accept the request ill add you to the group!

Mavejoy- the TEAS test is available @ KSU once a month (sometimes twice) Google KSU Mall...and then go to TEAS BSN Test....i think its 50 bucks?

Hey everyone, Sorry I have not been on for a while! Been busy with school and such. The accepted students day is an all day event according to the admission advisors. I hate that they did it on a thursday..I hope I do not have any test scheduled that day! @Je the deadline for the fafsa for emory was march 1st (as well as the tax paperwork and info I think) so I dunno how they will be willing to work with that- if they will even look at it?? I would def call the financial aid office to find out though!

@Amisadai I sent you the study guide and the book! Also, to all the accepted students I was looking @ scholarships and everything...anddddd from my understanding our admission application would be our scholarship application as well (as noted on the website)...BUT of course- there were 2 scholarships from Emory (woodruff and one other one) that required a separate application DUE ON JANUARY 15th! - go figure....hopefully some of you guys and gals knew about that....oh well i guess ill just apply to those scholarships next year LOL
