Greetings everyone:
I just sent in my application for Emory University for next year. I was wondering if anyone else has applied or are planning to apply. Currently, I am taking classes at GPC. I would love to start a little support group. If anyone is a student at Emory and would like to offer some advice it would be much appreciated too. Good luck everyone!
karczyn2 - I have wondered about the deadline myself. The only thing is that the 15th is the preferred deadline, so they still take things after that, you just don't have priority. But it would be fantastic to have until the 18th to make sure it was all there. And I believe that you do only get access to OPUS once you submit because it needs to have some of your data to give you a username.
@ william i have not decided if i will be going to it or not..depends if I get accepted or not!
For those wondering about the 15th being on a saturday my friend asked the advisor and relayed this info back to me..According to the advisor...the 15th is the 15th...anything submitted after the 15th will NOT be reviewed for priority registration. The application needs to be submitted, all references need to be, and transcript in by the 15th.
If you get it in after the 15th you do not need to stress you just will not have priority and you can still apply.

If I don't get in, I'm definitely not going to the information seminar. I just went ahead and signed up now just in case it feels up quickly. I think they only have a limited number of spots.
I've been trying to keep myself busy while we wait. I'm a little frustrated that I can't get my W-2's until later this month. I want to get all of my paperwork done for financial aid.
I start classes tomorrow for more pre-req work. Good times. That should at least keep me busy so that I'm not checking OPUS every five minutes :)
Does anyone know your chances of acceptance if you don't meet the 1/15 deadline? I'm really not certain if one of my references will make it by then and trying to figure out if I might still have a chance. Does it just depend on how many qualified applicants have applied by 1/15? I'm really hoping it all falls in place by the 15th!
I definitely won't be going to the info session if my application isn't in by 1/15, but I might consider it if it is. It would be good to visit Emory.
@williamhart1984 - if you are talking about filling out the FAFSA, you can do that based on estimated numbers and then update at a later point. That way your application will at least be in line.
@hlee....it took OPUS a week to set up....and then a few more days for my to do list to show up....one of the advisors told me that they use a 3rd party to do their application processing so it takes a little longer...
as long as your transcripts and your references are there and/or postmarked before the 15th then i think your safe!

You must first submit your application to get an OPUS account. Once you submit your application, your OPUS account becomes active. It took mine about a week to show up after I submitted my application.
From what I understand, the 15th means the 15th. Anything afterwards will be considered late I believe. I hope you get everything in on time.
