when did you apply?

At ksu you apply almost a full year in advance...so if you applied for fall 2011...they are still accepting applications until jan 31st...then in march/april you will find out if you got invited to an interview..then you will know whether or not you got in in june...then you will start the program in august. They invite 100 ppl to the interview and 30 applicants get dropped from the interview and 70 will be allowed to start the program in fall.

I applied to KSU itself in October and got that acceptance pretty quickly. I have received no communications from the nursing school. All this waiting is killing me:D

you got the acceptance letter in october?...you should have received the "contract" in the mail by now...I know my friends that are starting in spring have already gotten their physicals and registered for classes and everything....

Hmm i would def call fran or sandi and find out something asap..you def should have recd everything!

Hi. Is everyone finished with their applications? My plan was to send mine in end of this week but I am still working on my essay and is extremely nervous! I feel like the Essay is such a BIG part of our application and mine is not so great. =( And now I feel like I am sending in my application later than most people and won't have a better chance of being considered. I think you're fine. They look at all the applications submitted before the deadline so as long as you get it in soon, you'll be okay. I wish I would have spent more time on my essay but it was driving me crazy so I had to just submit it. I think mine was good. I wrote exactly how I felt and focused on my volunteer work and previous education.

I hope everyone had a great holiday. A little over a month and a half until we find out if we got in or not. I finally broke down and applied to other schools just in case. Hopefully I won't have to use my back-ups.

I am thinking about really expressing how I feel on the essay and not over think it. I think I'm gonna go crazy and just submit it too!! It's already making me go crazy and I'm not even finished with it yet. I don't have any volunteers or previous education so that's what worries me the most =/ Hopefully the month and a half will fly by!

Good luck mavejoy3! Can someone who have been accepted to Emory give advice on the essay? I am very nervous because english is my second language. On the Emory Nursing website it states that " The Admission committee members read it for content, grammar and spelling." That's where I got really nervous!!

I received an email saying my application was incomplete, but I knew that. All that is left are my references getting there and worrying about those is going to give me an ulcer. I already had one school not consider my application because they didn't arrive in time and I can't even imagine myself if they don't make it by 1/15. But I still check OPUS daily!

I check it daily as well. I can't help it, it's like a nervous tick. The only thing that is showing on my OPUS is 4 prereq classes that I'm taking this spring and summer.

Do you only get access to OPUS if you submit the application? I haven't submitted mine yet and won't be doing so until Tuesday. I am a little nervous that if for some reason they don't receive everything that it will be too late to fix it. Also, does anyone know if the application is due on the 15th being that it is a Saturday? For example, the University of Washington says theirs is due the 15th, but they accept applications up until the 18th because of the weekend and the holiday on Monday.
