Hi everyone,
I thought I would get a thread started for the Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 application cycle. I am going to the information session next Friday, July 24th for the program.
Has anyone else started to get ready for this application cycle?
I was actually an ABSN but applied to other FNP programs and got in. I regretted not applying to the ABSN/MSN program at Emory and asked to see whether I could reapply again. They ended up telling me that I could make an application change request and I was accepted :)

Did you need the gre to apply? Do you know when the program starts?
I applied on 10/14 and heard NOTHING for months. I assumed I was rejected. Honestly, I was pretty annoyed that the original email I received said I'd know in 2-3 weeks. Then out of the blue I received an interview invite in late January. I completed the video within a few days, and still haven't heard anything...Every time I call they say they don't know when I'll know, but it "should be soon." I did, however, receive a Valentines day email from them (strange priorities...)

Same here, although I haven't gotten an invitation to interview via video. I feel like that either puts me in the accepted or rejected column, no waitlist. If it were bad news, I wish they would just say something to put me out of my misery. The admissions office at Emory has put me through the most stress by far.
I have been watching this forum for updates and now I'm finally commenting! I applied to Emory's ABSN/MSN bridge program back in December and recieved an invite for a video interview at the end of Jan which I completed in 1-2 days. I have not heard anything as well but I am trying to keep my head up! I've finally found my calling in the medical field after shadowing numerous careers and now work as a patient care tech/nurse aide. I absolutely LOVE it! I didn't think the interveiw was that bad however I wasn't a huge fan of one of my answers but everyone seems to think it wasn't a bad answer when I review it. I know we are supposed to hear something by March 1st (just a couple weeks away) but everytime I hear my email signal on my phone my heart skips a beat thinking it's an update from Emory! The Valentine's email threw me for a loop!
My degree is in biology from University of Alabama- Roll Tide! But I am a GA native. I hope to work in pediatrics and loved volunteering at CHOA Egleston playing with kiddos! I feel my weakest part of the application is my GRE scores because I am not a standardized test taker... I even took a Kaplan course!
This anxiety is real! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear. If you've already gotten in-if you don't mind sharing your stats I would appreciate it :) Hopefully we hear sooner than later
I had the same exact experience as you two. I've actually been pretty annoyed by the entire process (well, not how easy the application was to fill out), especially because priority deadline applicants were supposed to hear back by January 15. I was certainly also annoyed when I got a Valentine's Day email, before I got my response. :) I did finally receive my acceptance yesterday, so I'm over it now. Sadly, my wife got a job offer last week, which may necessitate a move to Missouri (no offense if you're from there), so all this excitement I'm feeling about getting into my dream nursing school may be all for nought. I'd keep sending emails to the admissions team if you haven't heard anything, Wendi especially; the squeaky wheel's the one that gets the grease.
p.s. Weren't those video interviews the worst? "In 60 seconds, tell us about a time you were proud as a member of a team." What?!?
I will say that you SHOULD NOT expect to hear back by the time they say you should. I received my acceptance notification a full month after the date indicated on the website for priority deadline applicants.
Stats:
GPA - 3.4ish
Prerequisite GPA - 3.8ish
MAT - 449 (97th percentile)
XY chromosomes, which helps, I think
Hello everyone! :) I am a current, second semester student in Emory's nursing program! I also work for the admission office as a student worker (so I have a little exposure on both sides). I just wanted to share my admission and application process story with you guys because I can definitely understand your anxieties about this! I applied to Emory December of my senior year of college (I planned to do the second degree program as well!). I was also applying to other schools at the time, getting ready for graduation, and finishing up requirements for nursing programs so my life was pretty overwhelming. Waiting for an acceptance letter was the top of my worries. Near the end of January, I talked some students in the nursing program and at the Emory campus at an open house event, expressing my concern about not hearing back from them, especially since I was seeing other applicants posting about getting their acceptance packets on Instagram and Facebook. Students reassured me that because of the extremely high volume of applicants that they have (apprx. 3,000+), it does take some time to get through the applications that are submitted every session. I think the admission gods heard my heart, because a couple of weeks later, I received my acceptance packet the day before Valentine's Day (seriously- best day of my life)!
Working in the admission office, we are constantly addressing, reviewing, and pumping out status updates daily. So, we apologize if you have been neglected in communication about your application materials and statuses! It is not their intention to not address your concerns. College admission processes are very extensive and go through many divisions before decisions are made. Which allows for students to get an entire holistic review of their application! I say all this to say, don't lose faith, check your junk mail (seriously, sometimes filters throw Emory emails in that folder), and check in if you have any questions! The Emory Nursing website has a lot of resources for emailing, admission events, and online web sessions for you talk to Emory nursing students, counselors, and faculty one-one-one about your concerns! I hope this helps and good luck!

Decided not to go forward with Emory for various reasons, so hope that opens up more spots for those on the waitlist! Best of luck!
PS. I was FNP, for those that are curious
