Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 Program

Published

Hi everyone,

I thought I would get a thread started for the Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 application cycle. I am going to the information session next Friday, July 24th for the program.

Has anyone else started to get ready for this application cycle?

I applied in early November and just heard of my acceptance into the program via a phone call this week (then the status update today). Other than that, I hadn't heard anything from them (no interview, waitlist, etc.).

Hello,

I am applying for the Jan 30 deadline. However, I am confused because I just received a video interview. Did everyone do a video interview as part of the application process?

I didn't have to do an interview as part of the process.

I received the email about the video as well. I think they have decided to make that a part of the process for those who have not been accepted yet. Not positive, but that's how I understood the email.

I think business is the way to go! I figure it's better to be a little over-dressed than under-dressed. I'm wearing a dress with tights and a blazer. Hope that helps! Can't wait to see/meet everyone this weekend!

Hi all! My name is Helen and I'll be at the accepted students session this coming Saturday. I'm a Georgia native, and I'll be doing the Nurse Midwifery/FNP dual program. I would love to connect with other future students during the weekend! If anyone wants to make plans for an outing after lunch on Saturday, I know some great spots near Emory campus to grab coffee or a drink. Can't wait to meet everyone soon!

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why Emory seems to have every NP specialty except for Psych (PMHNP)? I can't make it to the admitted students weekend on the 6th, but wanted to ask someone in admissions this. If anyone has any intel, that would be amazing. THANKS!

I completed the video interview as part of my application process as well. I was waitlisted in late November, so it seems like the video interview was intended to get to know waitlisted applicants better before making their final decision, especially since no recommendations or essay was originally required. Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting with me!

I just received an email about the video interview....?! Ahhh that makes me so nervous. I wonder what they will ask! Has anyone done the interview yet? Was it okay?

Also... Has anyone been able to come up with a concrete number for how much this program costs? Do we have to go full time 3 years in a row or are we able to go part time while working when the masters portion starts?

That's a good question. I've also been wondering the same

Lyndsmar - Not bad at all! They let you complete as many practice interviews as you need using their web program before sitting down for the actual interview. I recommend taking advantage of that to get used to how the questions flow, but they were straight-forward. Don't be nervous!
