Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 Program

Published

Hi everyone,

I thought I would get a thread started for the Emory ABSN/MSN 2016 application cycle. I am going to the information session next Friday, July 24th for the program.

Has anyone else started to get ready for this application cycle?

I agree, the interview wasn't too bad. 3 questions. and writing you get 5 mins to write down your answer. Doesn't have to be anything too lengthy.

Now I am waiting to hear back omg.:(

Hi! do you mind me asking what the writing portion was like? Was it just an interview-like question but just written down? Hope your interview went well!

It was just a regular interview question, but just has to be written. Nothing too difficult, none of the questions were unexpected. You have 5 minutes to write your response. I guess they just want to see how well you write under pressure.

From what I gather, it's 8 semesters if you're doing ABSN+MSN, and 9 semesters if you're doing a NM/FNP dual. You start summer 2016, so you go summer/fall/spring/summer/fall/spring/(summer) and graduate in May 2018 (or August 2018 for dual). It's confusing to me because Vanderbilt's program appears to be either 7 semesters or 8 semesters for dual NM/FNP, so you're saving $21,000 on a semester of tuition. I don't know why Emory is longer.

I wonder if you're allowed to work part time when the masters portion starts, or if you have to go full time the entire time

has anyone applied by the Jan 31 deadline and has hard back?

I applied Jan 29 and am still waiting for some of my green checks to show up. Hopefully we'll start hearing back soon!

I still have not heard anything and I applied 12/5. I had an online interview about a week ago.

Just got into the program from CA! I got into the FNP speciality... Anyone else especially freaking out about the 21,000 per semester tuition!? Since we have 3 semesters each year, that makes it 63,000 a year...............

@v.lam827 Congratulations! Were you on the waitlist for the ABSN / MSN program?

Is there a deadline for the online interview?

Hi. I've been lurking on this forum for months now, I applied to the ABSN/MSN program FNP specialty on 11/16 and have yet to hear anything at all in terms of a follow-up or a decision. I saw in previous posts that some applicants got a video interview. At this point, I feel like I probably won't get good news but I wish they would just tell me something. It's super hard to get in touch with anyone by phone.
