Emory ABSN Fall 2016

Published

Hi!

Today was the priority deadline for Emory's ABSN program, and I've already heard back from them that I've been waitlisted. I submitted my application and all the materials early, but I was surprised they made a decision so early! Anyone else in the same boat?

I suppose it's better than a rejection, but so early in the process I'm a little confused about what it means to be on the waitlist.

Hi guys!

I was wondering if anyone is planning on accepting your offer? I was accepted...and I am not sure if I should continue to wait or should I accept the admission offer now. I definitely want to go to Emory. But not sure what to do now...I mean we won't find out anything about financial aids until after March 1st anyway...So what should I do in the mean time?

Hi again guys! I was accepted as well! I'm really excited about it but the cost is bothering me. I'm wondering if after receiving pell grant and loans in undergrad, is it possible to get financial aid from the government for this second degree? Also does Emory itself give grants for needy students?

Also for accepted students, do you know if we are supposed to apply for financial aid before committing?

Hi, I applied to the ABSN at Northeastern University about a week ago. Does anyone know long does it takes to hear back from the admissions office?

Hi all! New to the forum. I'm applying for the December 15 deadline. I didn't realize so many people had already been accepted. Does anyone have any idea how many seats they have left, or how it works with rolling admissions and having multiple rounds?

Thanks!

For those who applied Priority in October . . . I called this morning and the review of wait-listed candidates will happen in January. They said around January 15 we can expect to hear news back. Also, we will definitely hear a Yes/No response from them - we won't languish on the wait-list forever!

@bizcocho: I think what that means then is that by 1/15, they should have admission information for those who applied by the 12/15 date. I have a feeling that they make waitlist decisions based on the first two rounds and then those waitlisted who applied in the second round find out by the third round, etc. Pure speculation but I think that makes sense, right?

Accepted! Applied Dec 8 and received a notification today. So excited!

Hi all,

I applied by the Dec. 15 deadline for the ABSN program and still have not heard back. They haven't requested any letters of recommendation or essays from me, has this happened to anyone else? I'm under the impression that admissions decisions will be posted by the 15th.

Thanks in advance!

Hey I applied for the Oct 15th deadline and didn't hear back until last Friday, I got accepted! I was worried about it taking so long which might mean I wouldn't be accepted. I called last Friday and the person I talked to said she could pass the message along to the admissions officers. That was the first time I called where they said that, usually they just say something generic. I would recommend calling every once in a while but don't inundate them with calls ;) haha

Hey, I got a request for video interview. I was waitlisted from the Oct.15 deadline. Have you received any requests for interview? If so, can you tell me how it went?

I got the request for an interview too. I'm planning to do it tomorrow, so I can update you then.
