I realize I am not at El Centro but keep up with the thread. I too payed for my books and not in stock. The best part is that I have finals, plus an assignment (research paper) due the first week of clinicals. Weird

I've just realized that this time next week I will be eating my Mom's cookies and meals and I will start gaining weight, too. What if I won't fit into my uniform? :rotfl: Can you loose weight during the holidays?

By the way, I haven't received my uniform, yet.

Wow, I go away for awhile and this thread just blows up!!!

How is everyone? Funnie, Faceinbooks, LKG, LalaJenn? Have you all gotten your books and uniforms? They haven't released the lsit of books for me in my rpogram up here. I still haven't worked out all my funding, but I am hopeful. God will open a door or a window somewhere!

Did you ever see that guy who used to stand on the corner under the overpass at Motor Street (near Children's/Parkland) when you get on to 635? He used to have a sign that said, "Need money for beer!" I HAVE considered standing next to the Salvation Army people at Walmart with my own tin kettle....

I was sick for a while and just to pooped to sit up and post. Then I had to study for CLEP exams so I just laid in bed and studied. I am much better now.

I called ECC a few days after I got the letter and told them I would not be attending. I also mailed in a letter. Have you heard anything about getting a possible a last minute spot?

I saw that you are taking that online Math Class. That class really made math come alive for me. I would go over the CD 100 times until I got it. The demonstrations where great and finally helped me grasp the concepts. Even though I had taken Algebra before, it was still a good class. I am hoping that some college wil offer a class using that company's calculus & stats series.

lol....I hadn't seen anyone there, but years ago, I did see a guy standing on Harry Hines & 35 (?). My sister gave him money....b/c he was being honest. :rolleyes: (...or at least didn't try to say he wanted money for food when it was for beer or drugs.) :chuckle

I'm sorry you were so ill, but glad you're better now. It's tough having to study while not feeling well.

As for Spring, no I haven't. Last I heard, the lady said no declines had been received. So, I'm not sure what's up with that. Oh well....

I've been studying, and studying for this Algebra class. It starts tomorrow. I think I'm ready for the first two tests....so what I'm worried about is test 4, 5, 6, the final & midterm. I'll keep going over and over the stuff if I don't know how to do something. If I can't figure it out, I'll ask my 14 yr old to help. lol (It's always nice having someone that can point out what you're doing wrong.)

Have you taken your CLEP exams yet?

Sorry you was so ill, Sunny. I just took my chem final and studying for the nursing math test we have to pass. I just got my uniforms in tonight. I was excited to see them. They look pretty nice and much better than the all white uniforms. I haven't gotten all of my books yet though. The bookstore does not have all of them. I hope they will soon though. Good luck!!

Hey Sunny! I was wondering what happened to you! Did you try Sallie Mar Tuition Answer Loan? That is what I wound up going after and I got approved pretty quickly and I already have my money in hand. I didn't want to take out a loan but I went ahead and did it anyway......

I am glad you are doing okay :)

I just got my uniforms last night too but I haven't opened them. I have been so busy with Christmas shopping and getting ready to go out of town for the holidays.

Is everyone ready for the holidays in some way or the other?????

Just to let you guys know.....the program may be tough, but hang in there and you'll be fine. I just took my exit Hesi on Friday and I passed!!! So have hope!!! I've made it to the other side, and so can you!

I got an email from ******. It looks like that we have our hospital orientation on January 17th. :uhoh21: I am not sure whether we have to wear our uniforms or not.
