  1. I'm jealous of the commute some of you guys have! My case is 52 miles away from my home. The commute is at least 55 minutes, that's during the weekends when there is absolutely no traffic. During the week it takes between 1hr and 15 minutes- 1 hr and 30 minutes. I hate it with a passion! I sometimes have to park my car and sleep before continuing on to keep from getting in an accident. 2. I think this is different for everyone. I stopped considering myself a new grad around the 1.5-2 year mark.
  3. Not everyone is bitter, I assure you. I've never gotten anything more than a $20 gift card to Walmart, but I don't mind. I don't really expect anything during any holidays so whatever is given is truly a bonus. Latrice
  4. Well said! You took the words right out of my mouth. LT

Oh I'm sorry. I thought you were the nurse on the floor and they were working with you! I thought maybe it was something new that was being taught in nursing school or something. Wow, when you ask, please come back and let us know if you have time. I'm very interested in knowing what that is all about.

I've never heard of that either JaneyW. I wonder how many aren't doing fundal checks after BTLs. I'd much rather my patient be a little more uncomfortable temporarily than not check at all and there be more serious complications and consequences. So, their instructors are teaching them this? (I'm assuming since you said student)
  7. Hello everyone, I'm a TWU Denton student, but I'm in the FNP Master's program. I just wanted to stop by and say congratulations and wish you well next Spring! Just stay focused and you can do you anything you set your mind to. Latrice Just another bit of info. I do my CPR certification with a company called "Its Breathtaking CPR". If you google it just like that, the first link is their page. You are in and out of there in about an hour and a half. It's a family owned business (mother and daughter) and they are super nice!
  8. Glad to see you guys are doing well!!! BTW, I took NCLEX last Tuesday and I found out on Thurs that I passed so there is life after Nursing school no matter how stressful it is!
  9. You're test sounds very similar to mine. I passed. Good luck!
  10. BTW, guess I should update that I passed!
  11. I took NCLEX today too. The computer shut off at 75 and I don't know what to think of it!!!!! I am scared to DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. I took the keys to success class late in the game. I had to be readmitted back into the third semester and took it as a requirement to get back in. It was a really good class for the new class coming in. I wish they would have required it at the beginning of the program. It helps you learn how to take notes and read through the material.....it also helps a little with how to read a nursing question, etc, etc.
  13. It really depends on the school. I've seen some schools in the area that don't take the test at all. I've seen others that just take it as a diagnostic tool, and others that have to make even higher than an 85%. Latrice
  14. LOL I know, it can be confusing at times. I actually took the Hesi exam on Friday. I passed, so I am now eligible to take NCLEX. Hesi is the exit exam. The program requires that you pass with an 85% or higher to graduate. You are given two chances. If you are unsuccessful, you have to repeat the fourth semester. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Latrice
  15. I'd be glad to send it to you. Can you email me your email address? Latrice
