El Centro Spring 2015

Published

Hi all,

I am starting a tread for all the students that will be applying for spring 2015 ADN program at El Centro. Please join and give any info that you might have. I want to be successful as well as everyone else trying to apply.

I am relocating to the Dallas area and I am also applying for spring 2015. I am nervous about the HESI. Does anyone know if it is anything like the TEAS V test? This is the test I needed to gain entrance into my lpn program. Also if you don't get in for spring what other colleges offer a lpn bridge program that is near? Thanks guys!

The HESI is easier than the TEAS V. Not sure about closeness but TWU and TCC offers the bridge program. UTA has the fast track as well.

I was really nervous about the HESI, but it really is not bad at all, and wasn't as nerve racking as I thought it would be. Get a few HESI review books, and take as many practice tests as you can.

I work for THR and plan to apply for Fall but if I don't get in then I will reapply for Spring 2015. Hesi is my vice!! Did not do so well on the AP section and got A's on the others. In addition, I only have 8 of the bridge to BSN classes. My thought is to take more of those of I don't get in this fall.

Have you thought about taking them online through UTA? We have pretty good tuition reimbursement and I have taken a lot of courses that way. I've made As in everything but Stats and Chem so far. You could take some in the summer so they'd be on your transcript for Spring, that's worst case senario that you don't get in but at least you'd have some more towards the BSN if you do. I took 3 online one summer, not all at the same time but they overlapped, and had no issues. They have 5 week, 8 week, and 12 week classes.

All I have left is maths and history. I dropped history cause the format was just too complicated for me. And I can't take math online. My brain does not work that way. So those 4 are needed in addition to nutrition.

Oh ok. I totally understand about the math! I need nutrition too.

If I don't get in I am heading back to TCC for in person math, history, and nutrition.

does anyone know when the next info session is?

Im taking Nutrition now, easy breezy..

I currently attend el Centro in their nursing program and I would def buy that hesi study guide! The math in it is right on the money. I purchased a cliff notes book of a&p which was a great "refresher" for me since I did both as my first pre-reqs.

My advice would be to take the hesi admissions twice if you can afford it and have the time. If you take it once, you know exactly what to expect and what to work on.

Good to know! Thanks! Are you taking it online or in person and is it at El Centro? That's the only one of the RN to BSN classes that I don't have
