El Centro Spring 2015

Published

Hi all,

I am starting a tread for all the students that will be applying for spring 2015 ADN program at El Centro. Please join and give any info that you might have. I want to be successful as well as everyone else trying to apply.

I need 7 classes, I will be taking six up until August. I just took 1202 Wintermester, and will take 3 Spring '14 Micro, Stat and Engl. 1302. Then 1 class each semester for Maymester, summer I and summer II, which are basically Engl classes and 1 college algebra. I am taking chemistry fall '14 and might possibly retake Engl. 1301 since I made a B. Does anybody plan on retaking any classes where they got Cs. Does it matter? I got a C in a psych 2314 (easy class I know took it online summer before I decided on nursing)and I'm not quite sure what to do. How does it affect my grades once in the nursing program?

Bottom line, I will Basically have 26 pts. before taking the Hesi. Lowest I could have is 29 pts. highest would be 38pts. (highly doubt 38 lol) 40 if I take chemistry and up engl. 1301 to an A. I don't want to over work my self. I saw students get in with 27pts. Have any of ya'll taken the Hesi? How did you feel about it? Has anybody gone to paramount Bldg. or North Lake admissions to speak to an adviser over the nursing program? Any advice about anything would be appreciated.

I also took the psyc 2314 during the wintermester; it was a heck of reading. I too made a "C" on it, but I don't plan on retaking it. Why do you want to retake your English? If I were you, i would 'nt bother so much about it. Just make sure your A&p is an A, and then the hesi also counts a lot. Good luck to you!

Sounds like you will be doing a lot! No worries though I'm also on the same boat. I'm currently enrolled in Micro, history 1, HPRS 1204, HPRS 1202 and Sociology. Then, I will also take classes in May, June and July. I did take HESI and too be honest, I didn't think it was that hard like people made it seem. lol! Although, I do have 6 years of experiece as a Medical Assistant and i have learned a lot throughout the years. The funny thing on HESI is that I made a 96 on AnP, 92 on math and 80 on the english section lol! I guess becasue I was too busy concentrating on math and anp. lol! I do have another test coming up next month hoping to get a higher score.[/quote']

I'm so jealous of your hesi grades. :-) you really did well! Do you think one can do better just with A&p 1? Because I hear a lot of students saying that, one has to take both a&p's in order to have an in-depth knowledge of the Hesi exam. From your experiences so far, do you think that's true? Thank you!

I am currently in HPRS 1204, Microbiology, Sociology, and Nutrition. I plan on taking a class during maymester and atleast 2 during summer. Not sure exactly how many points I will have but I dont think I will be near 33, since I have beenn hearing alot about that number. Hopefuly I will do really well on HESI. I am going to take the Hesi prep course at ECC and going to study the study guide as well. Good luck to everyone!!!!!

In my opinion I think having anp 2 completed will help you understand the material. Questions will make more sense when you're trying to answer them. Although, I also believe you can pass hesi if you just memorize some of the study guide questions, but it's a fact that you must have anp 1 and 2 completed before applying to the program.

where did you purchase study guide??

I bought the study guide through Amazon because it was less expensive that way, but there are also sold at the school bookstores.
