Hello fellow nurses!
I was wondering if anyone applied for Duke University's online FNP program, Fall 2014. For those that are currently attending, how long did it take to hear back from admissions?
Also, would you mind sharing info on the program? For example, numbers of hours put in weekly for part-time attendance. I realize this may vary on the particular student, but an idea will be helpful.
Thank you kindly!
Jayne
p.s. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Thanks future. It's been really hard to have an extended period of waiting because I had been looking forward to at least finding out about my decision for the MSN specialty with the rest of you. I can't believe my interviewer didn't tell me about the DNP committee meeting later to decide post-BSN to DNP decisions. It's hard-pressed because I can get into the DNP, but if the MSN admissions committee decides not to accept me, then I cannot attend DUSON. I've been really worried. Could not even enjoy my birthday.
Well happy birthday! I do hope you hear soon and it does suck that they do it separate though.
I've been accepted to a number of really good programs at this point, so I'm trying to decide. I'd love to hear more about Duke from current students if anyone here can point me in the right direction??

I chose Duke because they have many more clinical hours than the UNC system schools that I looked at. One NICU and one peds nurse that I know are in the program and have no complaints. It is also nice that they select a clinical site for you. Other schools make you find your own sites.
Best of luck making your decision.
Dang!I'm sorry to hear that, and I'm sure this wait didn't help!
Yes, feeling down. Thanks for the sentiment Silva. It's difficult to trust that I will be notified if a slot becomes available because I received an email from the admissions specialist this morning informing me that I would receive an email prompting me to log into my Self-Service. Well, I woke up and kept refreshing my email and did not see anything. Went to the gym and towards the end of my workout checked my email again and nothing. So I log into Self-Service and saw the link. My heart dropped, and saw the wait list decision. It has been a rough two weeks, particularly, with DUSON.
I am giving them until next week to let me know if a slot becomes available as I imagine that is when deposits would be due. If not, then more waiting from the other schools. I just hope I have options, and trust that I will be directed where I truly need to be. I really hope that Duke is still an option right now though.

Good luck to us all.
Ugh, I feel for you lancer. I'm so sorry they made you wait so long and then waitlisted you, but definitely have hope because Duke is super expensive and I seriously doubt everyone is going to accept the offer.
PS did you get my reply to your PM before? My PMs have been odd lately so I wasn't sure if it went through.
