Duke University's online FNP program, Fall 2014

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello fellow nurses!

I was wondering if anyone applied for Duke University's online FNP program, Fall 2014. For those that are currently attending, how long did it take to hear back from admissions?

Also, would you mind sharing info on the program? For example, numbers of hours put in weekly for part-time attendance. I realize this may vary on the particular student, but an idea will be helpful.

Thank you kindly!

Jayne

p.s. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Future,

I tried to respond to your PM, but I am unable as I have not had enough postings. Duke has consistently ranked in the top of the nation for years. I have found many reviews, just not on this site. I am FT distance.... I hope you accept too. I was accepted into every program I applied for and this seemed to be the best fit for me.

Julie

Hi Jules - I did get your PM actually and responded! :)

Congrats on all the acceptances!

No word from the wait list from anyone? I got accepted to Rush today and if by next week I do not hear anything from Duke, then I will decide to deposit and accept in Chicago. Still holding on as much as I really can. Congrats to all of you that are moving forward with Duke. Go Blue Devils!

Nothing.

But congrats on your acceptance! Hope you hear something soon!

I haven't heard anything about the wait list either, but I was accepted to GWU's program. I'm not holding my breath for Duke I think we would have heard by now about the wait list.

I know this thread is pretty much dead but a quick question for those who know: does Duke set up clinical sites for students, including out of state?

I believe they do. If not, then they assist you with some input. I know with Rush, they will cold call for out-of-state clinical sites but I have to give them some names and contacts before they proceed with that. I have a year before I do clinicals with them and with Duke, I don't think you have to worry about that until your second year even with the new curriculum changes.

My decision on the "Application Status & Quick Links" has disappeared along with the response to decision link. Any other wait listed notice this? It still welcomes me to my SISS and notes that my admission decision is in the box to the right-hand side of the page. Strange, especially since I did not decline my application. Maybe this is truly the end.

Tom, no mine changed too and I was accepted. I think they simply switched the layout yesterday. Don't give up hope!

Just checked mine... Same here. Sigh. ...maybe an updated decision will be going out? We can hope :/

Sorry Silva, nothing new. But I forgot to share this response from an admissions officer after asking about the change on the SISS:

"Since the deadline has passed for accepted students to respond to their offers, the system has probably cleared the decision links. At this point, the program faculty will begin determining whether or not there is a need to pull students from the wait list. I unfortunately, cannot give details about the process as it is confidential. However, students can potentially be pulled from the wait list up until mid-July. If you happen to be pulled, you be notified."
