At my info session for the FNP, the director made it sound like on-campus classes were available for the didactic classes (i.e. physio, pharm, etc.). I am not sure, because I am going to be taking online classes from Southern California. Still trying to see about arranging my preceptors here, but that's not looking too good so I may have to go back to Chicago for the latter half of the program.

No email or snail mail notice yet and m decision page still says, "You should be receiving a notice..."

Just to update from today, nothing on my side either except for the, "You should soon be receiving a response directly from your major program regarding a decision on your application," on my status page. Oh, and the last communication I received was from MC on 12/16/13 about my application being received, complete, and the Health Assessment course and Physiology course being deficient and will need to be re-taken if admitted.

Did not even see your updates future and esme, sorry for the late response but thank you for your vote of confidence with Rush. Yes, at this point I have committed with Rush U for their FNP, BSN-to-DNP program, Fall 2014. Small part of me is still sad about Duke because I was looking forward to attending for my terminal nursing degrees since I finished my BSN in May 2013; it's all I could really think about during the summer and fall and it was such a dream. But, I am blessed and thankful to be able to go to Rush U. I grew up in Chicago and went to high school three blocks away. First hospital I volunteered for, so I am really excited. Best of luck to all of you and it was fun going through the process despite the outcome. The journey was memorable and I am thankful for all of it. Cheers, Tom

My interview was laid back as well. I feel like I will be well-supported as a student and I think it is so important to have that during graduate studies.

Sorry Silva, nothing new. But I forgot to share this response from an admissions officer after asking about the change on the SISS: "Since the deadline has passed for accepted students to respond to their offers, the system has probably cleared the decision links. At this point, the program faculty will begin determining whether or not there is a need to pull students from the wait list. I unfortunately, cannot give details about the process as it is confidential. However, students can potentially be pulled from the wait list up until mid-July. If you happen to be pulled, you be notified."

I really feel for you all. My seat will be up for grabs if I do happen to get accepted. All I can say is keep hanging in there. I remember taking solace by reading the old forums of past classes and the 10+ pages of posts they would write about their angst and waiting. I would read those, read some others, and re-read some more. I wish you all the best.

Hi Alpha, Thanks for your response. I am not sure we will be classmates, but if all goes as planned we should be at commencement together and earning our hoods at the same time. I thought the CRNA c/o 2017 had its own forum though. Congrats to us and I wish you the best! Cheers!

Rush University, FNP, DNP. Northwestern does not have a school of nursing.

Wanted to start a thread for those of you deciding to go to Rush U. for the DNP. Seems like a small program, but I am excited to be attending FT for my FNP. Let me know where any of you stand, if any of you exist on this forum: What will your concentration be? Will you be FT or PT? Will you be online or on-campus? I will be an online student, but if I have trouble arranging clinicals as an out-of-state student, I will probably to take a year away from California to do clinicals in Chicago as Rush seems to have great ties in the Chicagoland area. I am so excited and hope to hear from any of you soon with the hopes of gaining enough support and getting a group going.

Have you looked into Rush U.? They have Peds with acute or primary care for the BSN-DNP program. This program bypasses the MSN totally and can be done 2 2/3 years FT or about 4 years PT. Which admission dates are you looking into? Rush U's has passed so you might consider them for Fall 2015 if possible, as their application to file for Fall 2014 was March 3rd. Peds primary, however, has a Spring entry for Jan 2015 and the application deadline is Aug. 4th. Good luck with your search.
