Hello fellow nurses!
I was wondering if anyone applied for Duke University's online FNP program, Fall 2014. For those that are currently attending, how long did it take to hear back from admissions?
Also, would you mind sharing info on the program? For example, numbers of hours put in weekly for part-time attendance. I realize this may vary on the particular student, but an idea will be helpful.
Thank you kindly!
Jayne
p.s. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Tom,
I was on campus on Wednesday and have long, blond, curly hair. I spent Wednesday with my son (13 yo) walking the campus after my interview. He flew down with me and we enjoyed the bonding time. I look forward to meeting you. It would be nice to have someone from the west coast in class. I did accept the the offer. Keep me posted......

So I found out today from the admissions specialist that left me the notification of a decision by mistake from yesterday that I will not have a decision until the end of next week as the DNP admissions committee will not meet until the start of next week. I really wish I knew that since the interview because I figured if anything I would find out about the MSN first then the DNP as one could still attend if accepted by the MSN and not the DNP. Oh well, here is to more torturous waiting. At least I'll be kept be busy for the next seven nights with work.
You can always check the "Review" portion of your application details futureeastcoastNP if you are unsure if you applied DNP. If anything, I hope you find out about a decision tomorrow at the latest. Did you try calling? I can PM you the name of the person and the number I called to leave a voice message when I got my error notification. Let me know if you are interested.

You are very insightful Jules. Now that you say Oregon I think I remember seeing you during the facilities tour. You are blonde with short hair right? So I gather you will be doing distance-based with campus visits then? Is it also safe to assume that you will be choosing to attend DUSON and for the FNP? If so, if I do get in (knock on wood), it would be real nice to have another west coast classmate enduring this rigorous program. Thank you all again for your continued communications. I really am hoping for the best for you all and wishing that you realize your path to APN.
