Duke ABSN Fall 2020

Published

Hello! I figured it was time to start this thread now that the application deadline is nearly here. Let us commence the stress and commiseration!

I finally submitted my Duke ABSN application yesterday after being away from my computer for months while traveling. I feel excited and hopeful, but the reality is that I won't be able to attend without a significant scholarship. I love Duke's program and my partner lives outside of Durham (I'm currently near Tucson, AZ) so this could be the perfect fit.

Nursing will be a second career for me--I'm 34. I'm curious whether most of my fellow applicants are younger or around my age?

Good luck everyone!

I got waitlisted. Does anyone know how big the waitlist is/what are the chances of getting off the waitlist in years past?

I got in, too!

@jackattack 99 I think the folks on the waitlist have a good chance of getting in. Definitely don’t lose hope!

It wasn’t in the decision letter; it was a separate email!

Would you happen to know how many people they accept into the HEA program?

The cohort is usually between 10-12 people

Thanks for the info

Hey guys. I also was accepted. Not sure I'm going as I was also accepted to University of Pennsylvania's ABSN program. Where else is everyone deciding between or is everyone pretty set to go?

Let me know the pros/cons of Duke and what you guys think

I am deciding between: Duke, Hopkins, Penn, UW, MUSC, UVA (still waiting on Rush and OHSU). Hopkins gave me a 45k merit scholarship though.

WOW! that's awesome!! Congratulations! Where are you leaning? I'm disappointed I missed the deadline for UVA

UVA was my top choice, but I live in Oregon and they are unable to give me scholarship info for Fall and Spring until the Summer. Their program starts May 18th and I need time to relocate.
