Duke ABSN Fall 2020

Published

Hello! I figured it was time to start this thread now that the application deadline is nearly here. Let us commence the stress and commiseration!

I finally submitted my Duke ABSN application yesterday after being away from my computer for months while traveling. I feel excited and hopeful, but the reality is that I won't be able to attend without a significant scholarship. I love Duke's program and my partner lives outside of Durham (I'm currently near Tucson, AZ) so this could be the perfect fit.

Nursing will be a second career for me--I'm 34. I'm curious whether most of my fellow applicants are younger or around my age?

Good luck everyone!

I keep checking my email ! anyone wanna call and ask

anyone want to take one for the team and call LOL

I just called on my lunch break... the representative on the phone said 3 weeks ? I don't understand that timeframe since I emailed them two weeks ago, and I was told by March 1st.

that might not be accurate though. Last month, I had called another university and they told me "the end of next week" and then released decisions on Monday

I'm still hoping for today!

@garssta 3 weeks as in people that get accepted March 1st have two weeks to pay $500 slot lock-in payment. If they don’t or the financial aid package that is released 2 weeks later is lower than anticipated they decline; meaning you are removed from waitlist and notified approximately 2-3 weeks from March 1st.

I got in!! Just got the email!!

I got waitlisted

@garssta same to Duke & their HEA Program, but I will have to decline if the financial package and HEA isn’t enough. ? @Barbiegirl1229 By Late-March you may get my spot

Well congratulations to both of you!

Just called financial aid office, they are putting together packages today. They said we don’t have to pay $500 deposit until 30 days .

does that mean you hear from financial aid today too?

I got in!! And I got into HEA!

@Barbiegirl1229 They release fin-aid mid-March, according to thread year prior.
