Nursing Students School Programs
Published May 21, 2010
Hello,
Has anyone applied to the Drexel University ACE Program for the Fall 2011 start? I recently applied and have sent my transcript. Please feel free to post anything about the program and/or the Fall 2011 start.

I called Tina Heuges today and was able to find out a lot about applications. They started looking at them a week ago and are going by when you applied I guess since she said mine was near the top of the pile and I applied in August. Unfortunately, I'm up for review since some of my pre-reqs are not as good as others. You should call her because she got back to me the same day I left a voicemail and could give me a lot of info on the status.
Also, regarding those who applied to La Salle, I haven't actually found any info on their site about a second degree bsn program, is that what you applied for?

La Salle has a night program called the ACHIEVE Program. Check out their undergraduate website for nursing. It's a night/weekend second degree option that takes about 2 years since you do it part time.

I checked my status on Discover and it says under Student Type that I'm a Full-Time Transfer Student. I'm not transferring anything and am wondering if this is a mistake. Does anyone elses say this and isn't a transfer student?
Going to call tomorrow anyway just to see what this means and see if there's any word on my application. So nervous

Technically you are though- on my Drexel transcript, my prerequisites show up as transfer classes and my undergraduate degree is listed there as a general education transfer credit (like 80 credits or something).

Congratulations to those accepted!
Does anyone have insight to the 6.0 credit English prerequisite? I "tested out" of "101" and took only "102," a 3.0 credit course. I'm not sure if I'll be expected to add another 3.0 credits.

Everyone in the ACE program is considered a transfer student since it's a 2nd undergraduate degree program. You should have even filled out the transfer student application when you applied.
If you got credit for 101 on your undergrad, then Drexel will accept it as well. If you did not get credit for 101, then Drexel may have a problem with it. After you receive your acceptance letter, you get a transcript evaluation letter letting you know what transferred and what you are still responsible for. Takes about 2 weeks to get.
the Drexel ace website has been updated (since i last looked) and now reads:

I checked my online status today and I got in!!! To those who are still waiting for a response...I didn't do that well in my undergrad degree. 2.94 GPA (I had a great time in college...:) BUT I did manage to get a 4.0 in the prereqs I've taken over the past year and a half. So for those of you worried that your past could determine your future, take a deep breath...clearly from my acceptance they're looking for people that currently have their sh*t together!! Good luck to those who haven't heard yet and looking forward to meeting everybody in the program!!

Congrats to everyone who got in!! I just checked online and got accepted. Does anyone know the details as far as how old your prereqs can be?? My anatomy and phys I and II are from
freshman year, so they're like 6 years old.
