I read online that drinking 100% purple grape juice or red wine helps stomach bugs not to colonize.
A pretty bad bug went through my house 2 winters ago. My son gave it to my moms whole house (my mom and sister) and his grandmas whole house (grandma, grandpa siblings and uncle caught it) I didn't catch it. I had been drinking 1 glass per night of red wine prior. After I read that I continued drinking 100% juice. I never caught it.
HTH!
"If there's one thing I cannot stand is the stomach bug!............When I find out its going around in the hospital and everyone's sick with it I freak out lol." ~ AspiringRNAnd THIS is what I meant in the other thread about the impression you're giving off.....
The OP obviously dislikes stomach "bugs" and all the good things that come along with them such as vomit and diarrhea. Seems to be some kind of crippling fear IMO.
Are you working in a hospital now?
If you follow GOOD hygiene you should be ok. As a ER nurse we see these patients ALL the time. Don't touch the counters then you mouth. WASH YOU HANDS CONSTANTLY! I keep an alcohol based sanitizer in my pocket for frequent use. I don't eat sandwiches at work...nothing finger licking good. I avoid group feeding things like salad bars. I only eat things from home AND only things that you eat with utensils.

The OP is considering applying to nursing school, but has many questions regarding what she could be exposed to, what school is like, what her expectation of flexibile scheduling is like, what.....everything is like.

I'm not normally a baby when it comes to not feeling well or being around contagious people, but If there's one thing I cannot stand is the stomach bug!
I would rather have a bad respiratory infection/ the flu rather than this.
