Don't go to co-workers' parties where drinking is occurring

Published

I went to a co-workers party, she had a hall, DJ, Karaoke, etc, and lots of booze. I found out that another co-worker turns in to a trailer trash crazy woman when exposed to too much alcohol. It was a bad scene and there is continuing drama occurring.

I normally don't attend parties. I was the soberest person there, I think, although I did loosen up enough to show off my lousy dancing.

So, a word to the wise: Don't go to drinking parties with co-workers!!!

And wheres the problem here? Live a little and sont be so judgmental!!!

I'm not saying I don't have a beer or sangria with the crew after a weekend. I'm social with my group.

What I don't do is get drunk. Like I said before, I do not like being drunk outside of my own home (and thus rarely drink to excess). I find the drama and antics of the drunk crowd amusing, and generally don't judge an impaired coworker by their actions unless:

1) they made unwanted sexual overtones

2) they started a verbal or physical altercation

3) they can't have fun without drinking/being drunk.

Having come from a long line of drunks, been raised in an alcoholic home, and struggled with my own drinking issues as a younger me, I have no patience or measure for those ugly drunks. I also steer clear of the folks who seek any excuse to get sloppo.

I don't see how getting hammered and making an utter fool out of ones self in front of coworkers is "living a little"...

I went out with a girl who used to dance on tables. The rest of us wore scrubs and she would go home and change into a tight black dress. It is a teaching hospital and the Residents and Fellows LOVED her!

She was a hell of a nurse, too. Oldern all of us, compassionate as hell.

The table dancing was compartmentalized.

Ugh YES! This is my inspiration for who I want to be when I grow up.

LOL I just bought the trashiest trailer ever :) Really......Totally excited to have my own place.

No. Not in a way that generates any kind of negative attention, that's for sure. Or perpetuates a true problem.

But if management is not around you may or may not end up in your Medical Biller's backyard at 0100 having a dance party to the Sugar Hill Gang and picking grapes off her trellis, while her husband makes you eat tons of food that he's grilling.

And there may or may not be a video of that somewhere. That no one will ever see. Maybe.

Trust.

No. They don't. A real friend would never allow that. Especially in front of co-workers.

Why?

"Do you have something to share with us, Amazing Larry?!"
