Granted, we all have some bad days, but does someone out there really like their job?
I have to say I do. I like my manager, my co-workers (most of them anyway), the facility and job that I do.
I work with a handful of negative people. For the life of me, I can't figure out why. They think they can find it better somewhere else, however, I don't think that will be the case. I have worked in the area hospitals and know this facility rocks over the other ones. I just with they could be as happy as I'am.
I love my career-Nursing. I love the aspects of my job that utilize my skills. But, I rarely enjoy my job as a nurse. Reason being, we have so many money-hungry jackals running the healthcare industry that know nothing about nursing or what it takes to care for people, so I have to say, I love nursing, but unfortunatly, not very often does it work out well in an healthcare facility. If you have a facility you enjoy, hold on to it. That's the only part of the formula that's missing- decent administrators.
I absolutely love my job as a nurse. That being said, some of the facilities I have worked in, some of the people I have worked with, and some of the crap I have had to endure, that is what makes it rough.
When I am having a bad day, or when I am working with someone that is making my life hell, I just step back and tell myself that they are not the reason I am there, but it's all about my patients. THEY are the reason I am there. And that is when it is put back into perspective.
I love my job. I work in a Level III NICU, its great. I believe I have a good boss, good
co-workers, good pay. Sure, there are a few bad apples that complain and try their best to make my life miserable but that would probably be anywhere...you can't make everyone like you all the time. I love the families I get to work with, our hospitals work with the working class families of our community. Generally I look forward to going to work, I'm sure it helps that I only work 2 nights/week.

Oh I don't know, lol. I worked my old job 2 days a MONTH and totally hated it. I was in total burn out and left for 4 1/2 yrs. Never would I say I really enjoyed my job.
I enjoy my job most days, and that's probably as good as it will ever get. It would be nice to get paid to stay home instead. Lol. But I have great coworkers, great bosses, and most of the time great patients. If they aren't great patients, at least I know they will eventually discharge. The really negative people have been weeded out over time and it's actually a really nice atmosphere.
I really enjoy my current position....except the amount of driving gets a bit exhausting at times. Mostly I like it because it combines elements I truly enjoy, no hands on patient care, lots of variety and a great deal of autonomy. It is not for everyone because I work solo 99% of the time. If not for my very understanding family and friends I would feel isolated. Fortunately I am content with my own company most of the time and I work very diligently to stay in contact with my family and close friends when I am away from home. Pay and benefits are decent and I have a wonderful manager so I feel lucky to be in this job.

I am very happy with my current job. My coworkers are great and it is a pretty supportive work environment. I have to say, I needed to get out of floor nursing (the floors I was on were not very good - high burnout).
The only thing I would change if I could would be my schedule. Other than that, I have it pretty good : )
