Granted, we all have some bad days, but does someone out there really like their job?
I have to say I do. I like my manager, my co-workers (most of them anyway), the facility and job that I do.
I work with a handful of negative people. For the life of me, I can't figure out why. They think they can find it better somewhere else, however, I don't think that will be the case. I have worked in the area hospitals and know this facility rocks over the other ones. I just with they could be as happy as I'am.

I work in Home health - peds - and I love it! I have one patient for an 8 hr shift. He gets all my attention and his every need is met.

Yes I do. I love my Oncology ward in a very well-respected hospital which has very high standards of nursing care a tradition which is still observed.

There are so many variables that determine whether you like your job. My pay has been cut. Staffing is cut. Management has created an atmosphere of old nurse vs young nurse. Pts and families expect to be pampered and coddled during their hospital stay. "Floating" to areas of the hospital that are inappropriate.
I like nursing. There was a time when I liked my job. But you can't isolate that one segment of a job and exclude all the other BS.

I've had a few nursing jobs where I've said to myself, "they pay me for this???" Not every job, and not every day, but sometimes....

Autonomy and variety are what make me like work. Take either of those away, and I won't like it. Take both away, and I'll quit. That's a fact. I've done it.
A hearty pay check helps, but I've been happy with lower pay before.

I do love what I do, and I really like most of people I work with.I think this patient satisfaction crap has gone way too far, and I can do without the narcissistic attitude that many have.
I do agree with the customer satisfaction going to far. Nobody put a gun to the patients head. They came to us needing our help. Let us do our job.
I hear people taking pay cuts and it makes me sad. I also appreciate what we do have at my facility.
Maybe more so because I read posts that describe horrible places.
We have a new hospital, a wage increase and mostly 4:1 staffing. I'm so grateful.
