i have so many questions too ! the school is a messim trying to transfer but it doesn't look possible this semester. She is a physician. She actually comes to class still wearing her lab coat from the hospital.
Well, Doctors do not dictate nursing practice, but perhaps it might be enlightening just the same? On the job, sometimes our docs educate us and we appreciate it. You could check with Admin to see what's up.
Take advantage of the opportunity! I continue to learn a lot from the doctors I work with. There is a curriculum the instructor will have to follow, certain learning goals to be met. Why do you think they wouldn't be able to teach you? Yes, nurses have a different focus, but anatomy doesn't change, how to put in an IV or a foley doesn't change, disease processes don't change.
ANother thought, was this doc a nurse first, before going to medical school?
I had a physician who was stepping back from his practice that taught one of my A+P courses. He was getting older and basically seemed to be teaching because he genuinely enjoyed it. He was functionally retired but taught to stay busy and contribute to the field, I suppose. I'm not really sure why this is concerning?

I attend a small school. Most of my professors for my pre-reqs were doctors or nurse practitioners.
My school has said, many times, a doctor will NOT teach a nursing core class.
I received my schedule and, my current professor (who is a doctor) will be teaching my nursing classes next semester!
Is this even possible? She says she's teaching the class because the lady who was going to be teaching it, quit.
Has anyone ever heard of this ?
