There are a few girls at work that were their nursing pins on their name badge. I am debating on doing the same. I am just worried it will get damaged. Do you wear your nursing pin to work? Has any that wears them had their damaged or lost (fallen off)?

I do not wear my school nursing pin at work. I wore another pin on my badge, just a cheap RN symbol, and it broke. My badge is beat up. It's been pulled, thrown, and gets swiped through a machine constantly. I wouldn't want anything to happen to my pin. Granted it is sitting in a jewelry box, but at least I know it is safe.

I wear my ADN and BSN pins, never lost/damaged either. I just check my badge at the beginning and end of the day

I'm not direct patient care anymore, so I wear pins on the lapel of my lab coat, which does go home to get washed periodically. If I had to take it on and take it off daily, I'd never bother. I hardly ever wear my rings for that reason. I was always afraid I'd lose my pin if I put it on my nametag too.

On my nametag - it has a special guard to prevent loss.

I don't wear any pins on my badge because nobody else on my unit does. But recently when I passed my CCRN exam my manager came by and affixed a little CCRN pin to my badge. I was so proud of myself that I left it on for two days haha.

"Shreiks in terror"!!!!!! Do they expect big macho guys like me to wear a pin!!!!! When I graduate is there not an option for a nursing moneyclip? Or maybe cuff links?

Too funny, my husband is a nurse too and the money clip joke would be something he would say! :chuckle He wouldn't wear a pin either...

I have a pin holder - a heavy plastic strip with holes in it and fastens to top with a clip. My nursing pin, 5 yr pin (from my job) and an angel pin are all on it and I never have to open or close my school pin so it doesn't get ruined.

i used to when I was in Ireland - the ward I worked on most people did along with a proper name badge and a nurses watch. It was part of our routine as we went into the office to hand over we would take them all off our uniform and put them in our lockers. But I didnt take it backpacking witth me for obvious reasons!! I miss my gold and green badge

I would love to, but my Momma bought it for me when I graduated, and I don't have her anymore. So the pin stays put in the little jewlery box it came in....
