I was curious as to nursing students and nurses alike, do you take any stimulants other than coffee to stay alert? I was working 2 jobs once and was subsisting off 2 or 3 hrs sleep a nite back 10 yrs ago. It was ephedra based but has since been banned because people were abusing it. This other guy introduced me to a product many years ago that worked but I can't remember if it was called "Uptime" or "Ultra Energy Now". They were herbal based. What do you use?

Rockstar and Amp along with a heavy dose of Mt Dew.
That's waaaaaay too much sugar for me. I'm trying to lose weight. Plus you must have a hard time with the crash of it.

When I was finishing up nursing school, a classmate told me what she drank to stay motivated. It was back before the Redbull drinks and all that. It was "Jolt cola". I forget exactly how they marketed it, "...twice the caffeine...", or something like that. Didn't see it for quite a few years, then not long ago noticed they have started selling Jolt gum and mints. I haven't tried them, but the cola used to give you a good pick me up.

I use the crystal lite "pink" pack -- 80 mg caffeine -- drink it up, pee out the fluid, and bounce off the walls at 3 am.....but, FYI, don't chug it, and then try to start an IV....*evil grin*

Well, I took 2 Vivarins a couple weeks ago and then slept for 2 hours...I guess I react differently to caffeine than most eh?
