I do! And they come in 3s, too.
Today is a rash day. Three rashes so far, but I have a few hours left in my day still.
This week has been a I've had 2 this week (one snake bite and one lizard-ish bite).
At the beginning of April I had cardiology week. One student with a dx of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (no incidents at school thank GOODNESS!!) and 2 students on cardiac monitors at school.
Do you notice these trends/themes as well?
I had FOUR kids fake concussions in one day. Actually, last week was my liars and fakers week. I actually just immediately reported the serious liars back to their teachers because it was getting so extreme. I know kids are going to fake tummy aches to try and go home but this was to a crazy people level. These kids must think I have SUCKER written across my forehead.
April is our heavy allergy month here in the South then it leaks over into May for a few days. I swept up the fluffy pollen on my back porch last night so that means it's coming to it's bitter end.
Last week was period week for the middle schoolers.
Twice a year we have vomit week (a la "Stand By Me") and twice a month mysterious "I just feel bad all over" disease.
If I suspect a faker I explain to them that their symptoms are very, very serious and that they need to go to the hospital immediately and may need to have very expensive and time consuming tests - XRay, CAT scan, blood work. My kids are old enough to know that pulling Mom or Dad out of work for no good reason is not a wise choice. When I present the situation to them like that the fake eye twitch and unsteady gait immediately disappear.
