Hello, I was just wondering if anyone enjoys Nursing School? I don't find it to be sooo bad like everyone described. Then again, I'm only in N102, the easy stuff, I guess. I enjoy going to school, most of my peers and many of my instructors, and clinical. Is there anyone else? Sure studying around the clock can get a little old and I just want to snap my fingers and voila I'm an experienced, competent, licensed RN. HAHA What are your experiences? Do you like it or hate it? What is or was the best and worst parts?

I actually love nursing school. I'm in my 3rd semester in a part time RN program. I'm currently in Med Surg rotation and also went for a shadowing experience at an Alzheimer's unit. We recently started giving IM and SQ injections and it makes me feel like I'm important...lol. I don't think it's that bad as long as u are passionate about being a nurse as I am (and u)! Good luck in your journey!

I am in my 2nd semester (med-surg) of a 5 semester program and I absolutely LOVE it. Just off the top of my head, we can do trach suctioning, NG tubes, IV's, meds and wound care. We have to be CNA's to apply to our program and so come day one in clinicals we can do hands on patient care.

I'm only in Fundamentals Nur 100. I do love my classmates and instructors. I think the class is pretty boring but obviously extremely important. It's not as difficult as I thought it would be but I know it only gets harder. There are times when I enjoy NS and there are definitely times when I hate it, mostly because of all the time is takes to study. I have an A so far and I'm trying to keep it:D so I guess that's just how it goes. I know some people love being a student and would love to constantly be in school. I'm a worker bee. I can't wait to get out of school and start working. The more shifts the better! Although I plan on getting my BSN immediately after completing this ADN program so I guess there is no end in sight, oh well.

Love nursing school, almost finished with my BSN and it has been an incredible ride. Some days are rough but overall it's been awesome. I think we need more people saying how fun and great nursing school is, less of people whining in every post and declaring it horrible. It's what you make of it! Life is never easy and things worth fighting for aren't easy. Being a nurse and being allowed into a person's life at their worst moments is an honor. Such an honor requires effort.

Mixed bag: I'm a first semester student so I have Foundations of Nursing. Theory is boring as sin. Where's the science? I'm doing well, but it's a chore to crack open a book. On the other hand I love clinical (minus the long careplans). I like the actual doing something. It makes me feel useful.
I love getting an A on an exam, but at the same time I resent how much time NS takes away from me, even basic things like sleeping are a luxury, and how it often causes panic/stress/rage in me ("OMG how can I read all of that and memorize it by tomorrow AND finish this paper pefectly?!).
Can't end fast enough.
Wow, that's great! We are just getting into meds so prior to that we has just done basic care! I excited to learn to do more!
I agree Fundamentals is boring as hell. How to bathe a person and effectively communicate blah blah. We talk about these things much longer than we need to. Haha. I much rather actually doing the bathing. Congrats on your As!
I agree.

I agree with the post that say more nurses should post not only thier bad days, but theire good days too. I'm a CNA I thinking about going into nursing, but at the same time these post scare me at times. But like Forrest Gump says, "life is a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get", but thats the beauty.
