Dismissal From Nursing Program - Is all hope lost?

Has anyone ever been dismissed due to non-academic reasons? My GPA is not too bad, but due to other reasons I was dismissed from a four year program during my first year due to a unprofessional email exchange with a tutor. I am left wondering if any other nursing programs will accept me due to this reason. I don’t think the fact that I was dismissed shows up on transcripts, but it does seem to be a top questions when one is trying to transfer into a new nursing program after already being accepted and attending one recently. Is there any hope out there? Any similar experiences?

Quite disturbing to hear you received such ill treatment leading to tears in a bathroom. My former mentors would be shocked to hear that kind of comment. I do not think so, since I have been treated with respect and trained right. But I do agree it is not for those who do not have to subject themselves to such treatment (not doing it for their kids or have huge financial burdens, etc). I can understand those who must do their careers in a certain way due to their life constraints.

I’ve read your post several times and I still don’t understand what you are trying to say. I’m not sure what happened that you thought was unfair, but you clearly made a very big mistake. And your professors thought you were not someone they could teach. Were they right about that?

Long term wise they never do. They probably fall in love with me actually. Probably the short term ones or ones unlucky enough to not get me will insult me because they are jealous.

Wow. Either trolling or should not be a nurse.

If this is not trolling I’m not sure what is. This is such an immature post I’m not sure if you are 1) really young 2) really entitled 3) narcissistic or 4) posting to get people to get mad at you.

Interesting responses that you’re giving to people that are kindly giving you advice. I have a friend who is a retired professor and her saying is “ In school, you (student) are not the one that has power. Also, “school is not the place to f… around.” So, I guess as the saying goes, you fu…. around and found out. You always have to remain professional even if your brain is telling you other things and especially in an email where you had the chance to change what you were saying.
