Direct Entry MSN's 2010

Just curious if anyone who has applied to the Direct Entry MSN programs at UMASS Worcester, MGH, or Northeastern for Fall 2010 has been contacted about interviews or received word either way yet? I know the deadlines aren't until this week but just wondering if anyone sent their applications in early has heard anything. Thanks!

I asked simmons via e-mail when we should hear by.. they are hoping for the end of March, but do not have a definite date. They did not start reviewing applications until March 1st and the receptionist told me that there are only 2 people reviewing everything. They said they had accumulated around 150 apps, so it would take a while.. SO annoying especially because I was accepted to Umass last month, and they gave me 3 weeks to make a decision. Umass was my first choice, so I already sent in the deposit, but it would have been terrible if I was undecided. I heard that some people have been accepted to Northeastern but I am not sure if all the candidates have been notified.

Im waiting to hear back from Simmons too. It was the only school I applied to... they said that only 150 people applied? And that they didnt start reviewing until March 1 even though the deadline was Feb 1? They told me end of March too but I know last year they heard around this time. The wait is really hard.

No you were right, Feb. 1st is when they began to review not March 1st. Sorry, Typo. But yeah they said that there were already around 150 applicants when I dropped off my app. the Friday before Feb. 1st. I think that is a lot considering they don't accept too many. I was told about 50 get in. I have heard great things about that program and I currently take a class there. I really love the campus and the faculty is pretty great, too. Good Luck!

Woo hoo, got my acceptance letter to MGH! I also just got word that I was waitlisted at Northeastern, but that was my second choice anyway so my decision has been made for me. Apparently NEU got over 300 applications for 24 slots -- isn't that crazy? That's more competitive than Harvard undergrad! Oh well, I'm just thrilled that MGH worked out; it was my first choice. Now I just need to scrounge up the admission deposit (sigh...)

I got into Northeastern, and was waitlisted at MGH...

Is anyone a current student in NEU's DE program? Could you shed some light on what you think about the program? :)

Did you hear from Northeastern by mail or e-mail? If you want to remain on their waitlist do you have to notify them or do you just automatically stay on it? Did you interview at Northeastern?

I am a candidate at Simmons and have not even received acknowledgment of receipt of my application. Two weeks ago I was told that they had not gotten to all of them yet and were still sorting them out, and that I would get an email soon telling me if my application was complete.

Is anyone else in this situation? Has anyone received any email from Simmons telling them that their application was *received*? If so, when?

It's been six weeks and I am beginning to consider the possibility that my application fell behind someone's desk. :uhoh3:

Thank fully, I got into MGH, and I need to give *them* an answer before April 1st, so it would be nice to know...

I emailed them last week about this actually and they said they received my info and they apologized for not getting me an email that they had received my info. I would just email them and ask. They are being really nice about it. I walked my application in at the beginning of January because I was afraid it would get lost in the shuffle, so I know how you feel. I believe they are looking at everything in "batches" depending on when you handed yours in.

400! wow that's a lot of application reviewing they will be doing, I hope they are on the ball to get decisions out within the next few weeks! I was told via e-mail today that it was 288, but who really knows ... 150 sounded much better to me lol

288 sounds better to me than 400! I hope you are right!! :eek: Cam2oo6, if you get into Simmons would you go there or MGH?
