Direct Entry MSN's 2010

Published

Just curious if anyone who has applied to the Direct Entry MSN programs at UMASS Worcester, MGH, or Northeastern for Fall 2010 has been contacted about interviews or received word either way yet? I know the deadlines aren't until this week but just wondering if anyone sent their applications in early has heard anything. Thanks!

Anything in the mail today? Also - anyone who was accepted to UMass Worcester - have you received your acceptance letter already? It's been at least a week for me and I'm still waiting.

I just got my letter from MGH in the mail today and I was accepted! Definitely my first choices out of all the other schools I applied to and I'm so excited! I live in Boston so thats probably how I got it so soon, good luck to everyone else I'd love to talk with anyone who plans to go there in the fall!

Specializes in CNA.

I got a call from Umass about a week after my interview, my acceptance package came in the mail after the holiday weekend. Did you have an interview a week ago or receive a call from them?

I was accepted a week ago (via a call). I'm going home now so maybe it's there!

Just got my MGH acceptance letter!!

It was my first choice, I'm so relieved!

Looking fwd to meeting you all in the fall.

Best of luck to everyone

I got it! Woo. Heard from MGH too, decisions decisions.

Congrats to those who got accepted to MGH! I'm just finishing my first year in the program now and would be happy to chat with any of you who are considering going there in the fall. Just send me a PM :D

I got in too! See some of you in September.

Hi,

I received an acceptance letter today as well. Very exciting! Was wondering how MGH first-year students typically spend their summers, given that they don't have an RN yet.

Thanks!

Many students work as nursing assistants over the summer (that is...if they can get a job. most of my classmates are trying for CNA jobs right now and they're hard to come by). It's a good way to maintain your skills during the 4 months we have off for summers (May-August).

Some people also choose to take classes over the summer (most of which are online) to help lighten the load in the fall and spring semesters.

waitlisted at MGH and completely crushed...it was my first choice :(

Any idea how many people on the waitlist get in?

I have no idea what the exact number is, but they DO accept people off the waitlist. I know at least a couple classmates who were accepted off the waitlist, but unfortunately I can't give you a time frame.

Don't get too discouraged! It's early in the game and schools are still sending out acceptances so there's always a chance you'll get the letter you're hoping for :redbeathe
