I don't know how big the class is but they will tell you what number you are on the waitlist. As of the middle of March there were 9 people on it. They pull more people than other schools because they generally fill the class well beforehand with people who apply the year before and say they are going to take all their pre-reqs there and either don't do well and their spot opens up or people who change their minds etc.

Sveiz - Congratulations! Did you receive a letter in the mail or did you call? I think unless you go to Umass or another state school, and I don't think there are many with the accelerated program, the cost difference is minimal. Simmons has a great reputation and I think their program is highly recognized. It's a hard decision regardless, it's a lot of time and money and what's best for everyone in the end is different. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Congratulations!!! Did you call today? Did they call you for a phone interview or did you call them? How soon after you sent your application in did you have the interview? Sorry for so many questions, it's getting close to the start of the 18 month and I am getting nervous. Congrats again, very exciting!

boston2 - Did you have an interview?

When had you taken it originally? I took it in college but had to retake it because the 10 years was up. Hopefully that doesn't count. I just applied about a month ago. I had heard the fall was full but there were a couple spots left in the 18 month so I applied for that on a whim. I hate to call and be annoying so I was hoping someone else had also recently applied :) I was told they don't review applications as they come in, they do them in batches and the next batch was sometime this month. They also said they take a lot of people off the waitlist due to people who they conditionally accepted not passing pre-req's, changing their minds etc so depending on where you are on the waitlist you could still have a good shot for the fall. Anyone apply for the BSN in the past couple months who is still waiting to hear? I heard a few weeks ago that applications were being reviewed "soon" but haven't heard anything since. Do they ask everyone for interviews?

Has anyone actually received a rejection letter from UMASS Worcester? I know this late I haven't been accepted but I'm pretty annoyed they couldn't even bother to send out a mass email and say we were not accepted. The fact they just don't bother to tell anyone is pretty rude.

No the open house was just a general open house for people interested in the Dix programs. I was originally going to apply for the fall but when I heard there were spots for July I applied for that one. I just sent my application in about 3 weeks and have not heard yet, but was told applications were being reviewed soon. So fingers crossed! Yours will probably be done then it sounds like if you haven't heard anything. Good luck!!

When did you apply? They are doing the next application review in the new couple weeks, or so I've heard. As of last month at the open house, there will still spots open for the 18 month but not the 2 year that starts in September but were expecting to pull some people off the waitlist.

Does anyone know of any online Intro to Psych classes that fulfill the Simmons requirement? Or does anyone know of any online intro classes that are quick, preferrably that could be complete by the end of June? Thanks!

Jennifer0512- Thanks for all the great info. I'm glad to hear you were able to work a few hours a week, besides bringing in a little extra cash it would be nice to have a few hours a week to let your brain focus on something else besides all that studying. Do you enjoy the clinicals? Do you think the sites are welcoming to students or see them as just being there to do the work no one else wants to do? I do like the aspect of being awarded a bachelors degree after the RN portion. While I hope to go all the way through, you are right, life happens and you never know what could come up that would cause the need to take some time off school or have to start working full time. Do you feel the students are competitive with each other or just themselves? Do you think the faculty is there to just teach or are the really invested that everyone do well? I know there are always a few who don't fit the norm but having accessible and supportive professors seems key in programs like this. Thanks again!

Hi Jennifer0512- I think you just opened yourself up for a bombardment of questions :) Can you explain what your schedule was like the first semester, classwise and clinicalwise? I'd also be interested in knowing if you were able to work a few hours a week and how many of your classmates worked. Why did you pick Regis over other schools if you applied to and were accepted to any? Thanks!

LewisNClark- I emailed the head of the program at Northeastern a few weeks to check on the status of my application. She responded and said she would check and get back to me. I received an email from her last night telling me I was not accepted. They have been good at getting back to me via email so you may want to try that route. Good luck!
