Hi All- Thanks for everyone's help with financial aid questions. I feel like there is so much to do before we start! I was talking to a friend who is going to start at MGH and she said they already received their tentative schedules and lists of equipment they need to get etc. Have people decided where they're going to be living? I'm relocating with my boyfriend from Somerville to near BC, but we haven't found anything yet.

Hi Micronerd, Same here! I called financial aid b/c I hadn't heard anything and they were like, "oh we sent it to your BC email address" which of course I hadn't bothered to check at all haha. So it wasn't mailed to me or anything, but I saw it on the portal. I think that you're allotted a set amount of federal loan money and since I needed that for my MPH I don't have enough left to cover the full cost of this program so I need to get alternative loans. I just get worried that I've missed a deadline or something and then will be screwed later on. I emailed Marybeth last week asking when we would hear more information in terms of what else we need to get/do (equipment, uniforms, register etc) and she said they will be sending out an email at the end of this month or the beginning of June outlining more information on what we're going to need!

Hey All- How are people dealing with financial aid? I just finished my Masters in Public Health so since I already have a Masters under my belt, I think I'm limited in the federal funding I can get for this BC program. The estimated cost for 2010-2011 according to my financial aid letter is ~$50K, but the only federal loans on there add up to $26K. I've completely gotten the run around from the BC financial aid department and am confused and concerned I won't be able to go! I called financial aid and they told me the nursing school handles additional loans; I called them and they acted like I had 12 heads asking about loans through the nursing school. I don't know a lot about loans and am scared about going to a private bank asking for money because I don't have a lot of income to base it on...I just don't know what I"m doing! Any thoughts or can someone please share their experiences? Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I've officially decided on BC :) I'm really excited!!!! I'm in the Women's Health specialty and am looking forward to meeting everyone! Is there a facebook group going yet or a different thread for definite BC people? I live in the Boston area right now (Somerville), but now am thinking maybe I should consider moving closer to BC.

Thank you to everyone who has given such great replies! Has everyone finished their prereq's for the program? I still have to take Anatomy/Physiology I and II. I am currently in the Boston area and taking microbio at Bunker Hill, but when looking at their summer catalog it seems like they're not offering A/P I and II. They're offering it in a Bridge session which is summer session I extended by a couple of weeks. Now, I'm not sure where to take them! Has anyone finished their requirements and/or in the same boat? Thanks!

Anyone else receive anything from Simmons? How do people feel about the Simmons program?

Yes I definitely second that. I'm 95% sure I"m going to BC, but i would love to hear how people who are going there for next year came about that decision. What made you decide BC? Any suggestions on how to make the decision? Thanks!

Hey Everyone, I was wondering for those who have decided to go to BC, why you think the program is best for you. I was accepted to the women's health track and have sent in my deposit. I actually had my heart set on MGH, but just today found out I was waitlisted There is clearly still a chance I might be accepted to MGH, but since my deposit is already into BC, I'm starting to get excited about the program and wanted to hear what you all have to say! Thanks!

Yeah I called MGH last week when I didn't hear anything on the 17th (though the first person I talked to definitely said Feb 17th sorry everyone for excitedly putting that up there and then it wasn't true!) and they also said this week or the beginning of March. Has anyone heard yet? I'm dying!!!!!!!!!
