I don't see an issue with black and grey; black and blue would depend upon the color of blue. But in general, no problem. Lots of folks wear "unmatched" scrubs. After you've worn scrubs for awhile, they fade somewhat differently, so they might not still be the same color even if they started out that way.
Men usually wear solid colors. Actually, every male I've worked with, including myself, wore the exact same type and color of scrubs everyday, lol. I had a couple of pair that I alternated until I started wearing 5.11 pants and random polos. Patients couldn't wrap their head around me being the RN, but it wasn't against policy so I wore that instead. Way more comfortable and practical.
I don't wear different brands of the same color, but I almost always wear two-tone scrubs. Black top blue/red/green bottoms, black bottoms red/green/blue top. It's hard to describe glorified pajamas as professional to me, so I say go for it.
I can't like this comment enough. Scrubs look horrible. To have a bit more fun though, veggie, you should try mixing it up with prints.

So i'm gonna start my first job in a few days and bought a pair of scrubs. The top and pants I got are both black but of different styles and so have obliviously different shades of black. I'm thinking of just using them with a different color pair. Like example, a blue top and black pants, or black top and gray pants. I haven't seen any male nurses during my clinicals that wore different colored scrubs so that why I'm asking.
