Just wondering if you worked while going to school to be a nurse, and if so, part time or full time!
Good morning,
I started my nursing career working as a psych tech for an adolescent psychiatric hospital. After noticing that I did everything the nurses did (so I thought) and received a third of the monies that they did, that prompted me to go to school for my RN. I worked at noc (still do), went to school during the day and slept in the afternoon. Raised 5 kids.......what choice did I have?
Now I'm planning to go after my MSN, so back to the grind for me. Fortunately, my kids are all self sufficient now and have a "domestic goddess" wife that takes care of all the in-home stuff.

I worked full time nights (10 hour shifts/4 night a week). I had a 7month old daughter when I started and only slept every 3rd night. Just about as close as you can get to insanity. Now it has been 4 years and I can't bring myself to go back and get my RN.

Worked 24 to 32 hours per week during undergrad. 36 hours per week during nursing school, and 5 twelve hour night shifts while I got my MBA. Didn't want to have any loans to pay afterwards and I went to University of Phoenix. Sure some weeks I cut back to 36 hours, but most of the time, the 5 shifts. Typed my papers when I got home. Actually worked quite well for me. But then I didn't have any other responsibilities, just me and my pets.

Full time through the entire LVN program. But it didn't catch up with me until I graduated school and boy did I need a vacation after that!:biggringi Now after being an LVN for over a year I am glad I did it that way, (the experience actually helped). Now I want to go back to school and get my RN but am not sure that I can do it all over again!
Raspberry blonde,
Hats off to you! I also went through L.V.N. school, but I only worked part time. I am currently working toward my R.N.,and it seems easier than L.V.N. school. This could be due to having more knowledge this time in the nursing field. My friend recently graduated from R.N. school, and she said it is doable. COME ON GIRL! YOU CAN AND WILL DO IT! ANYONE THAT CAN ACCOMPLISH L.V.N. WHILE WORKING FULL TIME HAS MY RESPECT. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!:balloons: :balloons: KUDOS TO YOU, AND I CHALLENGE YOU. LOL!!!!
