  1. congratulations!!!i am scheduled for monday the 6th-hope to join you in the winner's circle!!!:balloons:
  2. i just graduated from an adn program after having been an lpn for 15 years. in all honesty, i returned to college for the pay increase and a wider range of job opportunities. as i continued through the program, i realized how much more in-depth the education really is. i also realized that just because you can ace the theory portion of the program doesn't mean you have an inkling of common sense!!! rn or lpn, it doesn't matter. it's how you use what you've learned in school or through experience. lpns---if you can, go back to school and get paid for your wonderful, valuable, experience!!!
  3. You absolutely did the right thing. Follow your gut! I would always rather err on the side of caution.
  4. As an LPN, I worked in a detox and rehab program for two years. The most important thing is monitoring behavior and the ability to to know when the patients are trying to get the best of you. In other words, excellent knowledge of physiology. Most of the patients we had were usually court ordered and would try "everything in the book" to obtain additional meds and bedrest priviledges!!
  5. The patient had been dead 3-4 HOURS? They both should have been fired in a team nursing situation!!
  6. I've been an LPN for 15 years and have regretted not going RN from the git-go. Both schools are intense, but the logic is really different. Getting LPN first is not,in my opinion, worth the time or money.
  7. I worked at TVC(Peds) from 90-92. Does anybody work there or know anything about it?? I started there as a new grad. Oh, what they must have thought!!!
  8. I'm with ya'. My ex was in the military and after 15 yrs of moving around, I shudder to think of what I've spent!!!
  9. I'm a full time RN student during the week and a full time LPN on the weekends.
