Did I fail the NCLEX 265

Published

Im literally freaking out right now. The first half of the test went good. I got 5 SATA questions in a row and saw that as getting a lot right.

But then the test didn't stop at 75.

It kept going. And then I got the simple content questions, where they literally asked me if it's safe for an adolescent to wear a seatbelt. I must have missed a lot of questions to get a question like that.

Finally I was at questions 265. I really had to pee, and the person watching the testers was not responding to me waving my hand literally in the air to go so I had given up on the restroom an hour earlier. My last question seemed to be a content question to me and I KNOW I failed it. I don't know if I can post it here or not but it was simple and I know I chose the wrong answer....

So my question is... if I failed the last question at 265 did I fail the NCLEX?

Some data on my exam (I literally counted on my erase board):

42 SATA

1 Hotspot

1 Medication Math

2 Put these in order

I'm so sad right now. I studied for a month straight 6-8 hours a day. I did Kaplan review and finished all Q Trainers and every single question of the Q Bank. :(

My test was yesterday

Do the pearson trick

I don't have the money right now to pay it :/. If I failed I was counting on the money back from Kaplan to pay for my next test (if they're even going to give me that).

How long does it take to find out the legit way and what do they do? Do they email you or anything? I took the exam in Cali.

You could do the trick with a card with no money on it as long as its not expired. If it says payment declined it means u didnt pass. If it says our records indicate..u pass. Hey if u didn't pass dont beat yourself up so much. You passed nursing school and you gave it your best shot. I am getting ready to take it the 2nd time in the next 3 wks. Am using NCSBN I really think their questions are closer. Wait for your results and either way hold your head up high. Good luck. By the way what State are u in?

Oh ur in CA. You can do the trick but am not sure if u have quick results. Am in NY. No email but I got the CPR as to how I did. Only those who didnt pass get it.

If you miss the last question and it was an.. easy question, is that a fail for sure? I cant believe I can possibly fail because of such a question. Would I be able to post the question on here, not word for word, but kinda like what it was?

DON'T post the question, just a bad plan. No one could possibly tell you for certain what "kind" of question it was, and you risk being held accountable for an NCLEX breach.

Getting the last question right or wrong is irrelevant when you've gone the distance, as you did. If you got it right, but it was below the passing standard, doesn't matter. If you got it wrong, but it was above the passing standard...you get the idea. One person's "easy" question is another one's "hard" question, so don't freak out about that. Your question was your question.

At the end of the exam, if the computer determines to a 95% certainty that you were above the passing standard (demonstrated competency) at the time it shut off, you will have passed. If not...you will have failed.

At this point, take a breather, focus on something else for awhile, and clear your head.

Goodluck!

Are food questions below the line of passing? Like questions stating a patient diagnosis, then asking which food to give them?

A lot of people pass at 265 ( I did!) A lot of people fail at 265. Second guessing, or any kind of guessing is pointless. Pray, take some time off to breathe! And relax, you cannot change it.

Yes, Kaplan will refund if you failed.

Cali BON sometimes (not always so don't freak out if it doesn't happen) posts licenses on their website much more quickly than you will get in the mail. Check daily (or a few times a day if you want).

Best of luck and do let us know.

Thanks for the advice guys. I guess it's just like waiting to get my ATT for the exam... got to play the waiting game...

I bloody hate nursing exam questions about food btw... >_

Do we know if questtions about food are above or below the passing line? Im just wondering because Kaplans course has questions all above the passing line and a lot of questions would ask about food.
