Did I fail the NCLEX 265

Published

Im literally freaking out right now. The first half of the test went good. I got 5 SATA questions in a row and saw that as getting a lot right.

But then the test didn't stop at 75.

It kept going. And then I got the simple content questions, where they literally asked me if it's safe for an adolescent to wear a seatbelt. I must have missed a lot of questions to get a question like that.

Finally I was at questions 265. I really had to pee, and the person watching the testers was not responding to me waving my hand literally in the air to go so I had given up on the restroom an hour earlier. My last question seemed to be a content question to me and I KNOW I failed it. I don't know if I can post it here or not but it was simple and I know I chose the wrong answer....

So my question is... if I failed the last question at 265 did I fail the NCLEX?

Some data on my exam (I literally counted on my erase board):

42 SATA

1 Hotspot

1 Medication Math

2 Put these in order

I know... I just thought it was weird that my pending application was gone, like they were saying to start a new application to take the exam :/.

I remember getting the last question wrong when I took the NCLEX. I didn't go to 265, but I definitely got the last question wrong. It was a weird, hard one too. I don't remember what it was exactly, but it was one of those "from left" type of questions. Anyways, I passed. So you never know. It depends whether or not you're above or below the passing line.

It's possible that you still passed.

NCLEX does that. Some testers are just given every question. I used to work with a girl who passed but rec'vd the 'entire' test, too. When she walked out of the room, the people who proctored the exam confirmed it.

So, just because it didn't shut off at the minimum, doesn't mean that you failed.

Unless you got discouraged and completely threw the test, you cannot assume that you've failed, either.

Just wait it out and R E L A X. All you can do, right now.

EDIT: It's been 2.5 years since I took mine and things couldn't have changed that much. The fact that you rec'vd so many SATA questions could be considered a good sign.

So did you end up passing? I hope you did

Still no actual physical mail or listing on Breeze :(. Someone told me that if you failed, they mail you right away within a few days because you have to retest.... but Im not sure if they were trying to make me feel better or not. It will be 7 days waiting tomorrow! :/

I'm still waiting for my results too and I tested 3/5. This sucks but I've mentally prepared for the worst. I just want to reapply already so I can get my ATT and reschedule ASAP

I know how you feel. I wouldnt take it hard if I failed... I just want to know if I failed ASAP so I know to start studying hardcore and to set a definite testing date. I just feel... emotionally drained. And if anyone knows me, they would know Im a very hard person to wrench emotions out of.

Anyone know if thats true? If you fail in CA they need to mail you within several days? Or can it still take up to a few weeks

Just an FYI: the number of SATA questions received is NOT a good sign, nor is it a BAD sign. It isn't a sign of anything at all. SATA is merely an alternative format of question, not an indication of above or below passing standard questions. That's probably one of the biggest myths out there (that SATA questions--presence or absence or quantity---means something).

Update. I failed. On performance report each category stated "Near passing standard." Cant believe this... I did every single question and exam on Kaplan :/. Now I just feel defeated.

Did you get your CPR today?

I don't know what that is haha, but I got a letter in the mail telling me I failed. I didn't know it's 350 to retest :/.
