Did Hillary really say nurses are glorified sitters ?..... No fact to support

Published

OK, there are a lot of people at work saying that at some time Hillary Clinton said that nurses pay is way too high and that they are just glorified baby sitters. Has any one else heard this. I've looked at may sights on her and can't find it. If she did say that, it needs to be made known. Nurses are a large voting population. I hope for her sake she didn't say that. Is that part of her medical reform plan ?:idea::o:angryfire :pumpiron:

I think there are some nurses on this site who have been taking that new drug....Tryphorgetin.
I'm old enough to have remembered such a statement, and was a nurse at that time too (and long before).

So by all means, please give us a citation. As reviled as Hillary is by many in this country, that shouldn't be hard to do (especially since you are certain of the month and year this allegedly occurred).

Perhaps you can recruit Drudge to assist you.

Arnold the governator made some very disparaging remarks about nurses. You can check this out several places on the net.

Again, he was talking about the nursing UNION. Not nurses.

Your wages would likely be toast.

I think paychecks will take a hit regardless, either in pay rate or taxes.

Seems you've taken that drug too. I see a post back on 2/6 saying you'd research the quote and post evidence. How quickly you forgot...

Thats a big negative.. I have not forgotten. Have not had a day of or time off to do so.. the SICU is hoppin and prisma city here. Got a freind on it now. need to do a nexus/lexus search. that is an engine that searches all documents. These people who say they did a google search it is only good for metatags... Nexus is the search all what they have and google is to search fo what they want you to find.. I just do not need it to pay to use it, my freind does. I have found some info about we nurses as undereducated and overpaid. Thats close enough to an insult to my profession for me, maybe not for you, but If a local councilperson said that about me, I certainly would not vote for them. But that is only me and only my opinion.

well, when/if you do come up with some credible evidence that she said this, i'm sure there will be many people thanking you.

until then, we await your results of this nexus/lexus search.

and until then, it still remains an unsupported bunch of crap.

Since Hillary has ACTIVELY introduced legislation on behalf of nurses for education, recruitment, retention, and working to insure safer working conditions (which includes the very important issue of safe Nurse-to-Patient ratios) then how pray tell can anyone believe that she said that "nurses are overpaid babysitters"? She is an educated, intelligent woman who would never make such a statement to such a large, active voting block. Not too many people who really see nurses in action would ever say that we are overpaid. The opposite statement usually is what we hear. This race is going to become even uglier but as educated professionals we should concentrate on researching comments that are put out there by the extremists on the opposing side and discern fact from fiction. It would be nice for once to embrace someone who stands up for others instead of allowing yet another candidate to be "swift-boated" by repeating such disparaging remarks without any regard to the truth of such statements.

Not to worry. The Cap'n on the case...

and you know this (for a fact! :)) because ... ????? (source, please?)

Just my :twocents: When Hillary was working on the Healthcare Reform committee that was initiated by President Clinton, one of the people working on that committee was Virginia Trotter Betts, RN who was the current president of the ANA. President Clinton was the first presidential candidate endorsed by the ANA--they had never endorsed a presidential candidate before Clinton. Virginia had also worked for Al Gore when he was a senator so she was very familiar with the ins and outs of Washington. I seriously doubt that Hillary said these disparaging things about nurses. Professional nursing associations have been a mainstay for the Clintons, besides the fact that his mother was a nurse.
