  1. Hey Adam, so I see one upcoming classmate here. As noted above going to Pitt this fall. BSN GPA- 4.0 18 years of assorted ICU exp. 1160 GRE 3.5 written ACLS and CCRN
  2. I wish you the best. Fellow oldster out.
  3. Older than dirt, I find that disturbing. I suspect you are employed by the VA like I am and I am aware of that CRNA program and if things do not work out here at Pitt, that is my option #2. I am 40 and can still bench over 400lbs (mybe 500 with a little training instead of school) there are very few coworkers I have that are in better condition than I and that whole tone that you experienced makes me think about me EEO annual training.... I hope you get in the program and take them for a nice long run!!!
  4. Dogbreath, I fininsh in Feb. also!!! I agree with your points regarding the school and I too was less than enthused with my devry instructor, but the class was a manadory diversity class. I do have one more devry classs and that is the economics just because I need thirty credits from them or I would have clepped it. Good luck and congrats!!
  5. Then should we prohibit the nurse from entering the CRNA program who has intentions of just being a part time CRNA related to her desire to raise a family? See the can of worms you can open with this thought process??
  6. Well, there are some 50 and 60 somethings at my gym, and they can run circles around some of the 20 somethings. I have always said it is not the age or the miles, it is the maintence.....
  7. I hope you are not too old either. I am 40 and applying to CRNA school this fall. I have been an ICU nurse for 18 years and I finally decided to press on. So you will not be alone. One of my coworkers just Graduated CRNA and he is 46.
  8. True on the gas prices.. Let's go nuke power!!
  9. Me neither. Random maybe...
  10. We will need to hold hearings on the legitimacy of "foley-boarding". I do think NT suctioning is torture, by the way...
  11. Vandy, was it a ct patient? Cabgs rountinely have 3. the last being for the pericardial space. Is it a patient with a hemothorax?

  13. Ditto as above. But have seen troughs done more frequently on renal patients to determine when to give the next dose...
  14. Yes I was a disorderly and a nurse tech while in school. I worked in the CCU that I ended up becoming the CN of a couple years later. I learned more there working then I did in my clinicals...
  15. Well, OK then we will be "tank commanders" then... Driving lessons will be available online and the model of the tank to be driven will be determined by your particular State Board. This will be GREAT in rush hour traffic!!
